Grayscale (rectangle):

Grayscale (rectangle) v2:

Grayscale (arrow):

Blue-Coloured (rectangle):

Blue-Coloured (arrow):

They look much better against a white background and scalled to the size of the current logo.

The gradients would work better if you used different colors to contrast. Its harder to make out, personally I would stick to simple bold fonts and lose the gradient to the text fill. Reducing the contrast and possibly raising the brightness on the keyboard background would improve overall clarity. I think the keyboard would look better if it were antialiased.

I've tried using flat colours for the font but it makes it a bit too plain.
I find atleast, gradients gives that little contemporary-look to it.

I agree with Serenity, it looks like "A Hotkey". Laughing

Anyway, why does it have to be based off of Rajat's? I mean, his logo's great, but something new and unique would be awesome.

That seriously looks good enough to put up right now. It looks nice and sticks with the simplistic theme of the site; however, I do still have one qualm with it. I think it needs some color. Maybe you could add a touch of dark or royal blue?

Unless I'm going to use a patchy 100kb JPEG, a grayscale GIF is the best to use because it's small and has the best-quality.

Actually, what colours do you think would be good and where.
I'm not going to change the keyboard, it was a nightmare doing it up.

Errr... ok, sorry, I don't know much about computer graphics (but I can put an .exe in one! Very Happy ), I was looking from a real-life perspective. I guess if I had to choose an exact place where color would fit, I'd say just make the arrow and text gradients blue-based rather than grayscale. A rich, dark blue is what I'm visualizing here. Anyway, it's just a suggestion, play around with it however you like.

I tried doing something like a ying-yang colour border with the text but it looked silly.
I also tried doing a 3d type zoom in thing, looked terrible.

Any ideas or leave them as they are now?
