Do you know this feeling ? You are sitting in front of
your computer, the world around you doesn't exist
anymore and your screen shows only boring text,
no animation, nothing, just text - as it seems to others.
And you are feeling great.
You come closer to your goal, there's still challenge but
you come closer and closer to what you will this machine
make to do.
Hours and days flow.
Now you have finished your code. You are not tired, you
are not exhausted. There is a great feeling inside of you.
You go out and notice that the sun is shining, and you notice
it as you would notice that it didn't shine. It is of no importance
to you. You found your real satisfaction in coding. In
looking at text all day long inserting crypted information
noone else understands but you are enormeously happy
while doing so.
Now you change your perspective to the one of an out-
sider. You look at your code and notice that you actually
wrote 200 pages of crypted text and being executed it
does what it should.
This is awesome. |

I had something like this happen yesterday. I managed something that I wasn't sure was possible, and I loved the challenge, and putting the puzzle together.
I solved the puzzle 15 minutes before it was time to go home for a 4 day weekend.
Very satisfying. _________________ “yields falsehood when preceded by its quotation” yields falsehood when preceded by its quotation. |

I know this feeling, but I had it the last time early this year (or was it at the end of the last one?).
I've found something much more exiting for me: The real life!
I still like coding for a bit and I've started a little nice project some days ago, but I doubt that I will spend hours and hours again to solve one problem anytime soon...
I do remember times (in 2005) where I wrote several thousand lines of code in one night (bugfree as far as 500 users didn't ever complain), and now I was writing about 400 lines in 2 days...
