here's something intresting about windows, or mine at least. While I was running the Default Style for the windows( xp blue shades) my cpu idle was 4%, now that I have changed to the silver style, which seems to have more detailed shading my cpu idle is 0%. Any clue to why this is? _________________ my lame sig |

The cpu power at any given moment cannot be trusted to rely on any one thing. I wouldn't suggest using your system's general information about the processor to reveal anything about the resources your visual styles consume. I do, however, have some words of advice. The MS visual styles take up a small portion of resources, especially if you have patched uxtheme.dll to accept unsigned styles. However, if you run WindowBlinds (which I have for a year now), it disables the visual styles and uses it's own methods of drawing which, surprisingly, consume far less resources. It is also my private opinion that WindowBlinds is better in functionality than the default MS styles. There are hundreds of beautiful themes for WindowBlinds, but if you still like Luna there are some nice reconstrunctions of it too.
If you're interested, visit the link below. It claims it's shareware, but the only detriments of the free version are a tolerable nag screen at startup and one or two missing features (like skinning scrollbars, etc., very easy to miss).
