I'd guess you have established ways to promote AutoHotkey.
But I just made a post on the Tech Support Guy forum to let people know about AutoHotkey. It is the largest help and support forum that I know.
http://forums.techguy.org/tech-tips-tricks/366118-favorite-freeware-20.html
The thread that I posted this in is one of the largest threads on the board and draws a lot of interest from people looking for excellent software packages they can use. |

...you missed one...open the post & search for ahk.com & replace all with AutoHotkey.com...
BTW...your link to the thread is to a random page 20, your post seems to be on page 97...& following my pretty-linking (no url blob)...I'd use...
...that is an exact link to YOUR post...or at least a post mentioning AutoHotkey... |

Hello Guest.
Thanks very much. I fixed the second error now.
I think the reason for the problem with the link is because I set the number of posts per page to 75 which is the largest possible. I'm guessing that will cause a problem for anyone else who has a different setting and tries to use the link I provided.
I set it to 75 because I like to be able to see as many posts as possible on a given page and I prefer to avoid a lot of page turning when I read a thread.
But how did you manage to come up with the correct number fot the post count? I can't see how you did that. It's obviously the right answer. But, can you explain to me how you did it? Can you please explain how you came up with #post 5368882 in your link?
When I right-clicked on your pretty-looking link, I saw the following info:
366118-favorite-freeware-97.html#post5368882
Protocol: HyperText Transfer Protocol
Type: html#post5368882
Address(URL):http://forums.techguy.org/tech-tips-tricks/366118-favorite-freeware-97.html#post5368882
But, how did you ever manage to find the number5368882 ? |

@JDN
My guess without visiting the page:
If you move the mouse over the quote-button you'll see the number of the post in the statusbar

The funny thing though is I think AHK appreciated the spike in visitors to their website. |

...certainly...in each post, in the dark bar, with the date & the per-post subject...to the right is a post number...that post-number is apparently the per-thread post number...yours is #1444...that number is linked to...
...& I could've linked to that, but clicking on that redirects to...
...which is the url I linked to...& between the 2, the dest url is more informative (tho still a url)...(in this post I linked with the url, cuz I'm actually demonstrating the url...I normally link with text {the title/subject of the destination} cuz the url is just a blob of crap, when it's not the subject)...
...you should've already been using Firefox, but forgiving you for that...you could post your queston here...since I can reply here...& AutoHotkey is very permissive of posts in General Chat...I've never used Tor, but I'll look into it, in the meantime, can you post specifically what "some problems" is?

...you really didn't visit the page...cuz I can't find a quote button! (on that page/forum...you are correct for phpBB forums tho! {which is the only serious forum software anyone should use})...lol...but of course I'm not logged in, so that extremely nice forum don't even show guests the quote button!...ugh...(ok now I've found "Post a Reply!" but still no quote button...& clicking that still wants me to login)... |

Thanks very much to Guest and all.
Very helpful indeed.
But, for some reason, I feel like when I'm speaking to "Guest", I feel like Vince Vaughn from the movied, The Sum of All Fears where he's talking to someone over the phone but he can't know their identity.
Oh well, I suppose it's only fair since I have two Identities (I've been BluxMax on many boards for a long time ... heh heh).
But seriously - thanks very much. |

As to what "some problem" was, when I tried to install Tor without having Firefox installed, Tor gave me some error message with a big Red X making it look like there was something critical wrong. It said the reason for the message was that Firefox was not installed. But then it ended the installation and all seemed to be OK.
But then, when I tried to start Tor later on, it issued some other warning message. I'm sorry but I didn't understand the details of that message. |
