My wife is losing her vision. most the things she uses on the PC i have been able to enlarge for her so far. But i have been having issues trying to make a large button calculator that will also display the results in a large format. I tried making my own buttons in Paint Shop and to get those into some sort of AHK GUI.. not sure where to go from here. i found a few scripts on the fourms here but they were for small/mini calcs and or for doing a lot more then what my wife would need ex: basic math controlls like adding and subtracting..
any help or ideas of where to start would be great. thanks for your help Laughing

--update--
Okay i used the Smart GUI to create a larger Calc form what MS XP has
here is the code i have so far trying to get the buttons to fill up this box size that i made for it.. and need to now get the math functions to work..
--Update 2--
Got the font and large size done.. just now need to add in the math functions and get the Text line to show what is being done.. any idea of where i should start? i tried checking other peoples Calcs.. but not much luck on my end of searching the fourms right now..

you could run the real calculator (hidden) and have it do all the math. you GUI just passes through commands.

there are a few calculators on the forum, and a recent topic in the U&R subforum. You may want to try those

There has also been recent discussion of an AHK magnifier script.

Can you also reduce your screen resolution?

thanks for that idea of useing the regular calc.. hmm

well the AHK mag works okay for me. she hates it though.. and dislikes the the built in Windows one.. i have her screen set at 800 x 600 on my 22'' Widescreen ViewSonic (sucks becasue i am always changeing it back to widescreen format when i am using it, but i wrote an AHK script that will change it back and forth when who ever logs in) with all the largest fonts i could get to work with that setting. I have FireFox installed and IE 7 and she likes those becasue they both will enlarge the font on web sites pretty darn huge for her.

-Hey - Engunneer- I noticed you had said something about Solidworks on Vista on one of the fourms here.. how long have you been using Solidworks? I got 2006 running on my XP at home and at work.. i have been trying to teach myself that program for about two weeks or so now, becasue my wife's father has a machine shop here in Cali. and they use that with SurfCam software.

Cool thanks Gary..
I have tried that program and i like it a lot.. that is what i was pretty much trying to do with AHK. I only wish i was a bit better of a coder to set it up in AHK myself. but that SuperCalc2 works pretty well. i will have to keep plugging away at my little script. I will just have to train my wife on how to use this program now Wink lol

I seem to remember that there's a tool within the Utilities section, which changes to a specified resolution if an assigned application has been executed. Check it out!

A mad alternative:
make the original calculator (calc.exe) bigger with Resource Hacker Laughing

Probably illegal ...
