I've searched the Autohotkey site for a script that would enable me to keep a short note on the contents of doc, txt or pdf files, and thus allow me to go directly to the file I am seeking without having to open a host of files before finding the right one. Is there such a script on the site?, or am I looking for something that does not yet exist?

| Thank you. Interesting. I have two questions. 1. Why do I get the message "No info found" in the balloon at the bottom right when I place my cursor on the upper left corner, when what I should get is the note, and 2) can "MyNotes" also be used to find DOS programme files? My favorite wordprocessor is XYWrite 4.018 (DOS of course). It would be nice if I could attach a note to the many files I have in that format and have have "MyNote" load the programme. |

Two clarifying points:
1) Activating "display full path in the address bar" is not sufficient if one wishes to obtain a balloon after pressing the hotkey Win+Q. One also has to deactivate "hide extensions for known file types. (Parenthetically, it would be nice if the balloon were activated by running the cursor over the file in Windows Explorer.)
2) MyNotes will load XYWrite (or presumably any other DOS programme) following a search, and place you in the right directory. The only thing it will not do at present is load the designated file. A minor inconvenience. |
