Yes, Fast Explorer as a true freeware is allowed to be launched by any
third-party application launcher or wrapper.

I found it in hopes of adding AHK compiled exe to the context menu and this seems to work rather nicely. Allows icons and submenus etc. However i didnt use the DLL, as i already mentioned.

PS. If someone is able to use this DLL with AHK successfully, please let me know. Smile

I must say that this principle is great, althought FastExplorer app sucks bad. I will conider creating as small as possible DLL in the ASM wich can be used the same way from any app. It was pretty stupid from MS not making such app themselves.

The program itself seems to work "fine", with the exception of icons being scaled down in the context menu for some reason. Even though im using icons thats already being used by TortoiseSVN etc.

Ofcourse, implementing your own dynamic cm handler is more flexibile as you can choose action depending on file's content (for instance display picture or file attributes). However, most apps require nothing more then icon (wich can't be set in static handlers) and submenus (eventualy information about the file name) so thats why this principle is good.

True. Smile

For the moment this seems to work for me, but its kinda annoying with the scaled icons and such.

PS. Do you know any better alternative context menu editor similar to Fast Explorer?

Nope, I did quick check, but nothing. 300KB is IMO large for general usage and non flexibile way. However, if you need this badly.....

We are not talking about sw but about DLL :)

I checked out FIleMenu Tools, and I don't like it 6MB ? Bunch of half made features, like that multirename ...

I also checked their editor , looks like a nice thing. Didn't check pro version yet Smile

For some reason FE started to crash on me when using Win+E to open explorer. With the exception of this crash thing, it seemed kinda nice. It works but not perfectly. Able to have own menus when right clicking background and folders, icons, etc. are quite nice features.

FileMenu Tools doesnt look that bad really, gonna try it out. Thanks for the link! Smile

PS. Sorry for the software talk here. Smile
