This is a very interesting project: Bersirc. It aims to be an IRC client that works on Win32/*nix/MacX. It's small and lean. Very good programming it seems (though I'm no expert)... Sourceforge Projectpage.

More interesting is the Claro library, that creates the GUI. On Windows it's a tiny dll (only 88k on my disk), yet it manages to handle the GUI. Claro is also ported/portable to *nix/MacX... It also has a Sourceforge Projectpage.

Claro is a set of cross-platform libraries which assist programmers in writing applications which can run on almost any platform without modification.

Might be worth looking into? Maybe some code can be used to optimize the existing AutoHotkey code? And maybe this could be a basis for a *nix/MacX compatible AutoHotkey? Cool
