Dear users,
How cool would it be if there was a messenger that you could fully modify using ahk. We all use a instant messenger of some sort but how about a ahk messenger? Anyone got some tips on how to create a instant messenger using ahk? Even if its basic. Does anyone agree on me with this one? I was thinking about it today when I was thinking what I / we should create next since I just finished my other program aka script I made. I am actually in need of a decent instant messenger because my msn messenger is dodgy it keeps logging me out for no reason. I would like to have a ahk based instant messenger to have pride that you actually made a "part" of it. Anyone think this project is worth while? would anyone like to participate it? If its possible anyone got some tips to point me / us in the right direction? Please leave comments below. _________________

I have thinked about an instant messenger written in ahk also. Currently, I have no clue how to write such thing. Do the world need another IM? I think not really, but I am interested in the solution how this could be done with ahk.
I will follow this project, if it starts ever. And if I can do something to help this, I would.
pss: This thread should be more in general area, shouldn´t it? This is not a real problem question, just a discussion.

Thx Fry, at least it works. (not tested by myself) Are you not interested in to make it better? |

This thread discusses how to do TCP/IP communication in AHK and uses a simple chat demo to test it. It provides the solution to the technical problem... now you'd just have to flesh out the functionality. |

Frys little program looks cool and simple. But I think it'll be almost impossible to get my friends Ip addresses as they think I'll put a keylogger on there pc or something. I truly think we should have another instant messenger. To say you can make a messenger that works like the others AOL/MSN etc. Yet too have the power to modify it would be great. I shall have a little play around things and see what we could do as a community for this giant project. _________________
