I know you generally can't use AHK with the Fn key on laptops, so I think I'm SOL on this one 
I need a laptop to turn on the external video monitor upon startup. To the best of my knowledge, I don't know of a way to set the laptop to default to that in its settings.
Any suggestions?

Look about two threads down from this one there is a thre secondary monitor with your answer.
