Hello,
I've made a utility, inspired by a tool by Zhorn Software, Key Counter.
It sits in the tray and counts keys while you type. Approximately every minute it writes the data in a log. You can then double-click the tray icon to browse the log (and all logs for preceding days) in a nice embedded Flash graph. The graph is by amline, and it is zoomable by dragging the mouse.
Appearance can be configured by editing an XML file. When you hover over the graph, data values appear (number of keystrokes in that minute).
This is good for tracking work times, billing customers, and just general fun.
