This hotstring definition:

::aa:::bb

cases 'aa' to be replaced by ':bb' whereas what is intended is for 'aa:' to be replaced by 'bb'.

Escape sequences do no good, because `:: gobbles up two colons..

Hi, I'm the original poster of the message and I don't understand Smile. After looking at the Hotkey command, it doesn't seem it will work for hotstrings, and all of the results when searching the help for 'virtual key code' etc seem to also involve hotkeys, rather than hotstrings...

the regex hotstrings look powerful, but surely there's a simpler way to have a hotstring ending in a colon?

lol, actually i registered, but for some reason my firefox has problems with many websites signing in--sometimes i have to sign in several times before it works, and on this site, it never worked! It might also be my residences legendarily bad internet that just randomly corrupts packets and things.
