| Yeah, Gimp is what I was gonna say. I've been using it for months, though, and I still don't know where everything is. Still, nothing else (free) even comes close to that kind of functionality. And personally, yeah, I'd choose it over photoshop if photoshop were free. |

Vista's version of mspaint has improved somewhat, so I'm using it a little more.
For web optimization and basic filters I use Irfanview.
For pixel-by-pixel editing, manual anti-aliasing, combining images, and advanced filters I'm using GIMP Portable from portableapps.com. _________________ “yields falsehood when preceded by its quotation” yields falsehood when preceded by its quotation. |

Actually Gimp can animate stuff...but I don't remember how.
Well, you have to have a bunch of different layers (of course) and it's some options or something when you save it as a gif image. |

| There's probably some easier way using a tool made specifically for that type of thing, but if you're gonna use the Gimp, try this. Somebody even posted a youtube video on the subject, but I didn't watch it. (I'm still on dialup.) |

Animation with GIMP. It's just simple layering, save as a .gif file... presto animated pic _________________ Unless otherwise stated, all code is untested
