I have installed hotkeys on my old Dell Optiplex GX1 at home and it works fine, but at work (where there are another 9 of the same machine) it does not work at all!

I am running Windows 98 and have uploaded the Windows updates and also the latest Java for 98 on the machines at work, but it still wont work.

Has anyone got any ideas what could be wrong?

Likely another program on those 9 PCs is capturing keyboard/mouse events and blocking them from AHK. Close the programs in the System Tray 1 at a time until your hotkeys start working. Then you'll find the culprit.

Also, all of the machines are on the same OS, right?

All are Win98 SE 4.10.222 A, although the ones at work were all installed from a version copied on to the hard drive, but the one at home installed from a CD.

so there are definately environmental differences in the OS
do you log into a netware domain?
try if you can msconfig clear the startup checks and reboot
then see if scripts run

Just to let you know I finally cracked this today (after ordering 7 second hand Dells running XP yesterday) I found a box in my ShopAssist epos program that dissables Alt, Ctrl and Esc commands. When I unchecked the box it all worked fine! Razz
