I have a shared G-Mail account with someone - I logged in on it only once a while back, but I was told that my IP address was shown logging on a numerous amount of times since then. How can this happen?

first of all, this is the wrong forum for the question..

this is possible if ur shared account is being accessed using a shared IP address, as many EVDO providers provide only a shared IP address to all its users.
Pl give more details of both of ur internet connections.

Not to be offtopic, but if you check the Remember Me feature, you will stay logged in.

@shajul
The General Chat forum is for anything and everything. This post is valid, do not claim otherwise.

Anyhow, if your computer frequently loses its connection with the internet (or if you use multiple computers), you will not be logged out of Google (because your browser still has access credentials) but your IP address will be logged multiple times. I experienced this when my wireless internet stopped responding while I was chatting - Evidently, GMail runs JavaScript / other Scripts which send commands to the server almost constantly.

Yeah, it sends frequent queries to check if you have new mail. Probably other things as well.
