I'm an ex-user of Macro Express. The MacEx recorder is definitely better; it has a better interface and the macro language is also quite intuitive. But then, it's a commercial product. AutoScriptWriter recordings almost always need cleanup, and may not really be suitable for beginners.
That said, I'm an AutoHotkey user now. I have not used MacEx it in nearly 2 years, so I can't comment on the current version. |

hey dude,
thanks alot.
The problem that I am facing with AutoScriptWriter is that there is no time delay in it recording. As a result, its playback makes it very fast. Doesn't have the realistic feeling. Instead, the macro express has a time delay for whatever two action. Thus, its playback makes it look more real. Therefore, I'm wondering if both programs can be run together. I hate Macro Express is the fact that you are unable to find its saved logs. Any solutions to it? _________________ I have lost friends, some by death... others through sheer inability to cross the street.

It's not recommended that you run both Ahk and MacEx at once, but it can be done. Just make sure that they're not assigned the same hotkeys, or perform the same actions concurrently.
In fact, I was running both at once over the course of two months, when I was porting MacEx scripts over to Ahk.
Initially, my Ahk skills were minimal so I just wrote simple Ahk scripts that did rudimentary stuff. If there were complex tasks, I'd just have the Ahk script invoke an existing MacEx script.
Over time, I converted more and more sections of my MacEx scripts to Ahk, and eventually, I only needed Ahk. |
