Is there any way to use OnMessage to check for commands sent to other (non ahk gui) windows?

Edit: I am using an app that has a static control (simulated LED indicator) that turns red when it is on. I'm trying to use OnMessage to find when it is being activated. (I need the app to be off the screen and minimized when I'm running it, so I can't use pixel get color).

Any other suggestions?
