There are a lot of autohotkey scripts created on our website/forum and this problem with false positivie anti-virus alerts scaring people and deleting files is totally out of control.
After a couple of years of this i keep waiting for the antivirus companies to get their act together but it never seems to happen.
I want to urge/beg/plead with the AHK developers to take this issue seriously and contact the antivirus companies and try to do something pro-active to solve this issue once and for all.
I made a longer post about the issue on our forum ( http://www.donationcoder.com/Forums/bb/index.php?topic=15210 ) and we stand ready to help in any way we can.
I just really think it's time ahk users and devs take the bull by the horn and take this issue back to these companies and insist that they stop this harmful pattern of behavior -- it's slowly but surely harming the reputation of ahk. |

You may want to follow the thread titled An open letter for Antiviral software companies. There is nothing much the developers can do, there will always be scriptkiddies abusing the software. You can avoid this problem by recompiling your own version of AutoHotkey or sending out text scripts instead of exes. _________________
