WinXP Sp3
Is that an OS related problem though? Because it's been modified.

The error message means that CDO.Message object was failed to be created. So, it's highly likely a problem in your modified OS.

The error messages said all about them. Don't strip/turn off system components/services unless you're sure of what you're dealing with.

I want my program to be able to run in the second environment without problems, and I can't change the OS.
Does this mean I must use blat?

I'm wondering if there is a way for me to fix your code and have it work on the modified OS.

Fix what? You must fix your OS to make the script work. That's what I meant by all up to you.

I was working on a project y'day where I wanted the prog to notify several folks as to its success/failure. Spent a couple of hours (fruitlessl) trying to get blat to work for this purpose. Its SSL inabilities finally flummoxed me.
Then I found this script. Worked perfectly the first time. And deals with SSL or not-SSL seamlessly.
thanks Sean muchissimo.

Might have been requested, better answered already (if yes, please point to it) but I need urgently to be able to track if a mails receiver has read it. Simply: how to configure SEANs script to get a read receipt response??!!
