Hi .. can anyone help me figure out how to automatically unzip a file using winzip? i want to feed the file name to the winzip program. I mean, winzip will open the file then unzip it to a defined directory.

Unless you have a very good reason to want to use winzip, you should use a the built-in zip functionality of windows or a another program like 7ZIP. Search the forums for ZIP, especially the Scripts and Functions section and you will find many helpful resources.

Strangely, work on 7-zip wrapper has been abandoned for almost a year. I just posted in that thread, hoping to breath some life into it. After all, it's open source, darn it! Confused

I agree that using a commercial application while a free, open-source one exists and performs quite well, is a bit masochistic. Unless they want to use the new marketing strategy, completely useless format, called "zipx". I wouldn't use it even if they paid me, but this is too long of a story to tell here.
