Does anyone know how I could use autohotkeys to make a text file in my computer from the RS 232 output from my Uniwell TX-850 cash register?

The reason for this is that I need to create a text file to trigger a pc based credit card terminal.

The cash register prints to a serial printer at the end of each transaction, so could the data be sent in to my computer via a USB port maybe as the only com port is used by the credit card reader?

Thanks

Perhaps the ComCap utility would be some help?

Managed to get the ComCap utility working finally Very Happy , with the correct wires conected from the Uniwell. Now I have to get autohotkeys to read the text file and find the word "card" on a line and copy the amount that comes after to a new text file called "input". I will let you know how I get on with it. Rolling Eyes
