Anyone still worried about it?

Anyone know someone infected?

Is it media hype or genuine concern for you? Mrs. Carcophan just got back from the Dr, I am advised not to return home until her fever breaks.

Can't decide if that is good or bad news yet... Cool

Thoughts?

Considering that flu deaths overall are down quite a bit by comparison to the past few years the whole thing appears to be substantially overblown. I caught the flu this year for the first time in almost 10 years, once I was aware I immediately upped my doses of vitamins(A,C,D) and kicked it within a week. Only really felt bad for one day, chest tightness lasted for two or three days.

The only real question left is what barnyard animal will have its own illness next? I'm betting on the equine flu in 2015 and the ovine flu in 2022. Laughing

LOL. I agree, it's wayyyy over hyped.
I have a bunch of friends that have had the flu, and their fine.
If you're in the USA, the strain that was in Mexico is a completely different strain than what's in the USA. It's way less severe.

When you worry about something, that's when it'll happen.
It's the whole Law of Attraction (Philosophy Version).
It's an interesting point of view on life, but it works.
The lamest/cornyest movie ever that explains this law is The Secret

Agreed. All that stuff is just to sell that vaccine.
Google it, use terms like "lies" and "conspiracy".

Swine flu is a potentially dangerous flu, it's just the fact that it doesn't/won't spread as fast or easily as they're saying.

I've heard that Swine can only be contagious if the contagion already has the fever. I've also heard that you cannot get infected with Swine unless you're already ill or your body is weak. For instance, pregnant women are susceptible to it, the elderly, sick, young, or someone with a disorder where their body isn't exactly working up to par.

Just stay healthy and away from people with fevers and you're good to go. I honestly am not worried to much of getting it but I am worried a little for my girlfriend because she is expecting and she could actually get it quite easily. Swine in pregnant women are especially dangerous. There are several cases where Swine has actually killed pregnant women. So we're taking all the proper precautions to keep our child healthy and her of that matter.

It's always better to over-react to something potentially dangerous and keep yourself healthy and away from it then it is to not and subject yourself to it. If you're one that thinks it's not dangerous and shouldn't really care about it, you will be thinking otherwise when you actually get it. Who really cares if it's all lies or conspiracies, why take the risk?

While law of attraction might be true, I don't see a definite proof in the movie. The nice thing about that "movement" is that its not sect-oriented. Those people truly believe in that and stories they tell appears to be true.

You don't have to worry. U just might want to be educated about it.

About A H1 N1, I know that how it will work on you is something you shouldn't leave to chance. Its known that people with some helth problems (like immunodeficiencies and respiratoral problems) are going to have worst effects of the virus and that it may be fatal for them, while on the other hand, people in non-critical group will have effects that could be compared with mild flue.

In anyway, this is probably going to last for few years. Last pandemia in 70s stayed for 15 years AFAIK and before that in 40s for 5 years.

You should be careful, but not too much. I believe now that only thing one can do is to is change his life style and act preventively every day. I take all kind of natural things - white tea (with buds only), Moomiyo, lots of Vitamin C , shark liver oil, etc...

I totally dont support anything that has to do with modern medicine because it might help you only when you are deep into the illness. Otherwise, other kinds of medicines are more appropriate - chineese traditional one, homeopaty, green medicine etc... I say this because it turns out that this swine flue vaccine might be a biggest cheat ever of our "great" pharmaceutic companies.

The following graph makes you think a little, though...

At my house we have all had it - if we had gone to the doctor we would have created quite the statistical spike (there are 12 of us, ages 52 to almost 2).

I think that I had it the hardest, it took over a week after the flu was done to get rid of the cough. Other than that, very mild.

This is the first flu that we have had in longer than I can remember.

Swine is simply the government trying to actually cause the zombie apocalypse.

Research has shown that even after the few that have died from swine, the flu still lives on and the bacteria still grows inside the dead body. Once the human population has died off to only 100,000+ human beings, the bacteria still continuing to grow within the dead bodies will mutate and soon began to rise the dead bodies from the grave. Thus causing them to crave flesh and brains alike. The government has been working on this virus for some time now, they find the whole zombie apocalypse idea a great idea for population control. They needed someway to spread it in a very elusive fashion.

My only advice to all of you is to stock up on ammunition, pull out your shotguns and grenades, build a well standing barricade, and have plenty of food on hand. Play some Resident Evil and Left 4 Dead to brush up on your zombie killing skills and read the Zombie Survival Guide.

Although none of this true, wouldn't it be awesome? Laughing

Over here in Britain, it would appear that not enough people have been dying from it - at least, not as many as predicted. So, they'll be 'giving away' the vaccine to all 5-8-year-olds. I guess they have a lot of it to shift!

Interesting how they're always so interested in getting it to the children. Really, sometimes, I feel that the onus is on those who don't believe in conspiracies, to prove that it isn't.
