Hello,

I have a home server which is my itunes box.

I'd like to listen to it from my work computer.

Currently I've set up RDP over the internet, and I can hear sound, however it's rather jerky at times, as there is no buffering. (despite home having a 24/24 connection and work having a 100/100 connection).

I was wondering if I could use a program (maybe vlc?) to broadcast My computer sound over the internet somehow...
(I have appche set up, maybe use some sort of Java?)....

Any thoughts anyone?

I was considering dragging an audio cable all the day to work as well, but then I changed my mind Razz

Dunno about itunes but the are many solutions to stream media, like
http://www.pancake.org/zina for example or icecast or shoutcast for more advanced methods. There are quite a few zina like applications you may want to look into, I know Lifehacker also regularly highligths ways to do it http://lifehacker.com/tag/streaming-audio/

One of the most basic ones (but no longer developed, but it is very easy to install if you also have python running) is http://edna.sourceforge.net/ basically unpack and you're done. But it is very basic but I like it and served me well for quite some time now...

Edit: via portablefreeware Vibe Streamer seems easy enough
