I am not talking about the cache. I know how to clear that. If you view a page, say msn.com then under tools > options click work offline IE caches the page so if you close your browser, re-open it, and go to msn.com the page will have text and stuff. Clearing cache the normal way does NOT clear this. The only way so far i have found is to go to tools > options > advanced tab and click reset. I am look for a programmatic way to do this. If anyone knows I will be eternally grateful. I'm using IE8.

OK here is a step by step:

1. Open IE in offline mode and attempt to go to any page like autohotkey.com
The page will be blank (of course)
2. Change to online mode and go to autohotkey.com. Now, click work offline.
3. Exit IE and come back in and change to offline mode before going to any website.
4. Go to autohotkey.com and notice that the website is fully viewable because it has been cached. This is expected.
5. Go to tools > options and delete temporary internet files
6. go to auothotkey.com again. My thoughts are that it should now work just like in step 1, but it works like in step 4. The page is STILL cached.

The only way I have found to get IE back into a state where NONE of autohotkey.com is cached is if i go to tools > options > advanced tab and click reset. I am looking for either the folder that these cached pages are stored in or something on command line to delete the cache or possibly a registry setting so it no longer caches pages

...on XP & IE6 (which I have but don't use {I use Firefox}), in Tools -> Options... there is a Delete Files... button, click that button you have a Yes/No dialog & a checkbox "Delete all offline content"...does that checkbox exist in IE8?...are you on XP?

Why do you write like that? Do you have dyslexia or some other mental impairment? I mean no offence, my brain hurts when I read your incoherent sentences.

...you mean no offense, by a really offensive comment!?!...plz re-phrase that (the msg you quoted) so it doesn't hurt your brain...I see nothing wrong with it...

PS...why do you quote like that?...you leave no space below the quote & then put your comments...see how I quoted you, there is space below it...

Sure for political correctness, just in case you do have an unfortunate condition which makes you write that way.

I'm not interested in teaching you basic communication skills, nor do I expect you to change if I took the time to clarify in detail what is wrong with your messages. Point besides, you failed to answer my question so I will assume the worst (since you don't deserve the benefit of the doubt).

On my screen there is enough space between the quote block and the next line of text. If it's difficult for you to read you can change the margins with a user stylesheet, which shouldn't be a problem for someone so knowledgeable in browser configuration.

...no, if I knew an answer I'd post it...does the link tank provided not help?...I don't have IE8 & if I did, I wouldn't want to keep trying to clear everything out to find out why it don't really clear...is there a reason you don't use Firefox?

Titan wrote:

...I communicate fine, so, no, I don't need that...

Titan wrote:

...if you did, constructively, point out what's wrong with it, that would help. Instead you just want to harass & insult me...do you think Mods should act this way?

Titan wrote:

...when did you start hating me? I don't deserve the benefit of what doubt? You think I'm really retarded, just cuz you think I am? I don't deserve the benefit of the doubt that I'm not retarded? Your whole hate-filled post makes no sense...& no it doesn't not make sense cuz I'm too dumb to get it, it don't make sense cuz your too dumb to constructively communicate your issue with the way I wrote that msg...

Titan wrote:

...it's not...it just makes the person quoting stuff that way look stupid...THERE!...after all your insults, I finally insulted you back once...do you like that?

again Titan prooves his ability to be the only person on this forum who is more inflamitory than me and even more un willing to apologise.

as to the link o provided it was for screen shot purposes only not as a solution to this problem. I think the OP did a fine job describing his problem when i asked for it. tho it might be more approriate in a windows forum since he is looking for a programatic solution.
