I thought it would make sense to request that an "Ask for Help" needs to contain the information about which flav(o)ur of AHK is used. Standard AHK or AHK_L/_H/U/.. .
Meanwhile it is getting a little bit confusing, isn't it? |

I am still using standard AHK. There is only one script where I need Unicode, and first I used AHK_U. Later after AHK_U and AHK_L are merged, I am using AHK_L for that script.
If AHK_L (+U) is more robust someday I went to that version from Lexikos. Very interesting is also IronAHK from Titan. Other versions sounds also interesting, but I cannot dive in all variants. They should be merged into one solution.
Standard AHK needs Unicode mostly. Other features are just features, Unicode is essential! _________________ {1:"ahkstdlib", 2:"my libs", 3:"my apps", 4:"my license"}

But Lexikos said somewhere they are working / thinking on something after majkinetor suggested something similar. _________________ AHK Wiki FAQ

Also, for the record, AHK[U] isn't really a valid candidate anymore - | jackieku wrote: | | AutoHotkey_L has been merged with AutoHotkeyU. Please use AutoHotkey_L instead. |
As Tuncay mentioned though, this could get very interesting/confusing when IronAHK is finalized ( unless Titan starts a separate forum ). To agree with BoBo³, when in the AHK forum & posting code / asking questions ( if you're not referring to the standard AHK release ) you really need to clarify what build you're referring to. _________________

Its great that this is brought to the fore. I was wondering where to post questions about AHK_L. It would be ideal if there was a single place for all info no? _________________

AHK_L is like almost a fork. The issue is that the standard version is not being updated much, where AHK_L is. So because of the additional features and frequency of updates, AHK_L is slowly, but steadily, becoming the quite standard.
IronAHK, looks to be huge. It will be a clear fork and need it's own section by itself on the AutoHotkey forum because of a lot of .NET questions it is sure to generate.
I think it would still be better to have AHK_L and IronAHK on the AutoHotkey forum, because the language is AutoHotkey and there will be a lot of things in common between the forks and standard AutoHotkey. However, just like General Chat is it's own section, I think AHK_L, and most definitely, IronAHK need their own sections. |

The best way would be possibly an obligatory DropDownList for all Autohotkey forum sections
Whenever you create new topic you are forced to select which version your script, wish, question or bug is referring to.
Also Search should provide such a DropDownList I think. _________________ AHK_H (2alpha) AHF TT _Struct WatchDir Yaml _Input ObjTree RapidHotkey DynaRun |
