I've made a great looking (IMHO) screensaver entirely in AHK. This keeps painting sketches (mostly of good looking girls ;) ) on screen.

(any guesses who they're?)

It even detects whether its being run as .exe or .scr, so it will run unattended when run as a screensaver & will give options when run with .exe extension.

Download + Instructions here: artist

(had to make this page coz once when i'd given straight links to my files the free webspace service deleted my webspace saying I was using it to distribute files ....duh!!)

Give it a try and do tell me what do u think of it, be it good or bad!...I should get some merit considering its created using just AHK, and not one of those big screensaver creation packages. :)

with a tool like AHK at ur hands, only ur imagination is the limit!!

That's pretty sweet. I like how you cleverly associated the .art filetype with the screensaver (at first it was a mystery to me how these art files could be opened just by double clicking them).

nope!

but here're 2 hints: she is a former miss world, and was recently featured on TIME magazine's cover.

probably nobody noticed, though this screensaver keeps moving the mouse around, but still it exits when the user moves the mouse... cool eh?...the way how it differentiates between movements made by itself and the user, and that did the trick!

With both I'm trapped. Checking the screensaver (with that kinda images) - dangerous. Getting information about: Aishwarya Roy even dangerous. Forced to wait till my lady is out for shopping

I just tried it as a screen saver and it seems good. The Settings button prompts you for an art file, but then it scans the file (isn't it already scanned at this stage?) and then the file is deleted, it seems (so I had to put it back there again).

Maybe all that's necessary is to keep the art files in the same directory as the screen saver itself.

I notice that the screen saver is registered automatically and thus appears in the drop-down list, probably due to a RegWrite routine in your script; but maybe it's just Windows that automatically notices if you have a SCR file lying around.

Actually Chris the file select prompt in settings is to create NEW file... so that u can paste a b'n'w pic in mspaint and the screensaver scans it and adds it to its collection!!

u should've read the page i linked! :) its there!

BEWARE: this screensaver detects porn and won't let you scan any indescent pic!... it'll even try to send email to concerned authorities! .... (kidding!!)

Forced to wait till my lady is out for shopping

:D then wait'll u see what i've got!... my PC is nothing short of Leonardo Di Caprio sketching Kate Winslet in Titanic!! ;)

btw u guys will get 100 times more results if u search for 'Aishwarya Rai' ... coz that's the correct spelling (not Roy).

... I've uninstalled most of the default Windows applications (yes, it IS possible to get rid of IE and MSN) because I hate how they use their monopolistic power to impose their products on us. Windows XP is completely separate software from MSN Messenger, Microsoft Office, or any other software that comes with it for that matter. And Internet Explorer SHOULD be separate and COULD be separate, but they got scared of Netscape so they forced us to use it by making it the freaking default shell. In doing so, they also f***ed up the kernel, introduced a multitude of problematic bugs, and intentionally deviated from the ideal modular system. And they cover it all up by showing us all the new "features" *cough cough* BUGS! *cough cough* we can use because they got jealous of *gasp* competition. [/rant]

Anyway, the point is I don't have paintbrush. So, obviously, the script runs into a problem right around Run,pbrush. I'm not into graphics, so I don't have even basic image manipulation software other than IrfanView, regardless of whether I could configure it to work in pbrush's stead or not. But from what I see and from what people have said, it looks pretty cool.
