I would suggest that if you want to draw attention to a specific post or topic (wrong forum section, spam, bad behaviour and so on), you rather use the 'Report this post' button of that (or a) post, so that any active team member can see and act on it - simply because many people on
the team list are not currently (or not very) active.
Directly contacting a specific moderator makes mainly sense, if you want to refer to a specific decision of that moderator (or admin), or if they were already active in a specific topic and you have a question regarding their post(s). If it's a question of public interest, you could of course
mention the moderator in a post instead of PMing them.
For general issues, there is of course also the
Forum Issues forum.
