I thought this was an interesting read.

"The end of the 120-day public-comment period ends Sept. 15 — at which time the real fight over access to the Internet begins."

I do pray for such a thing

But we are too lazy, too coward, and extremly too good to build on sand, we will just use a new crypto who will consume more CPU, intel and AMD will be happy, and NSA computer grid too...

If you forgot your phone at home, you become a daily suspect...
If you use privacy tools, you become a suspect... And they can't build big data, it is like stole their money...
If you are untrackable, then for nations point of view you start to be a terrorist...
Do you really think that they will let you build your new internet ?

Tank, if you really want the worse thing, pray for a very huge solar flare for create a geomagnetic storm even around tropic, every plugged computers will be fried (with a part of humanity knowledge), current internet dead, no users, no servers...

When I read me again, I look like a paranoiac or a crazy guy, lol ! :D

Exactly my point. Nothing will change until it changes for the worse

Net neutrality is a minimum... Problem is always money, why we still use mp3 or mp4 or aac, why we still use tcp and http, old and BETTER alternatives already exist and to secure is impossible (just more long or hard hack)... Every body can build his own protocol (but will depends of ISP and router too, of course)...

Even wikipedia is not shared with a p2p system, and don't use open media format... We always use a server system, better control, less security, more owner, less privacy, BUT less trafic, etc... (depends of point of view)

When they find a critical bug, big companies start to cry, they can easly give their best employee every years to fix all open source technology that they use, why they don't that ? (prevent cost less than repair)...

The old questions of who gains, who make trends, who follow, who want to fight...

Also USA have half IPv4 address and control ICANN, IPv6 is extremly delayed by lobbies (and cost money)... So if you really want to change everything, good luck, we will saw you dead with a rope around your neck before that happen ! Currently and how internet is build, net neutrality or not, it is just a trap, so please lets a tiny shop have same right than a major compagny, freedom with buisness !

ISP look like a farmer who don't understand why his apples are sold 10 time more at the market... why for example comcast don't buy some share or part of google, if they really want a part of the cake... They aren't idiot, that just hide a possible dictator tool, and futur pressure, and a cartel system...

blablabla... too much to say on this subject...

I am saying that the entire thing need to be re invented. It cannot and should not continue in its current form destroying net neutrality will mother a new internet and a new secure and never again completely open internet

Please don't confuse data security with net neutrality. Even if all the data on the internet were unhackable, it still needs to go from A to B and then C.

The goal of net neutrality or "Open Internet" as some are starting to call it, is to stop any company, especially the internet service providers, from governing the speed of some of the data packets (Ex: Services that do not or cannot afford to a pay a bounty) while allowing other packets to go through at full speed (Ex: Services like Netflix and Google that can afford to pay the bounty).

Killing net neutrality is just a money grab by greedy internet service providers (Verizon, Comcast, Time Warner, etc.). Even if killing net neutrality sparked massive innovations in data security, we would still be stuck with a slow and/or ridiculously expensive internet.

Them be my thoughts...

 I am completely against net neutrality

let me explain:
TCP/IP and HTTP are impossible to actually secure. encryption cannot solve the problem because human beings themselves can always be hacked. Not only that but there is no real motivation to even attempt to create more secure protocols and connections.

Net Neutrality being ruined could be the single greatest motivator to find better solutions. by actually increasing the cost or pain level of using the internet we will create necessity and therefore invention

So far, no one has been able to cover this top better than John Oliver. Well worth the watch.

Last Week Tonight with John Oliver: Net Neutrality
Warning: It's from HBO so it can (and does) contain strong language. The producers censored some of it for YouTube but much of it is uncensored.

I hate how they keep trying to pass these things.

I guess they follow William Hickson's quote of "If at first you don't succeed, try and try again." But it's sickening that they keep trying under new names until the public passes it by or they add it as "fat" to other bills that are 'essentially' needed to pass.

I hope everyone will take just a few moments to sign all the petitions for these types of bills, now and in the future.

Keep fighting the good fight!!

Thanks for this, it would be a good idea for autohotkey to sign it too.
