For much of the 1970s and early 1980s, Styx was the biggest thing on the planet. They had 4 consecutive multi-platinum albums and 16 top-40 singles in the United State, 8 of which hit the top 10. They sold out stadiums all over the world. Although Dennis DeYoung sang lead on many of the tracks, Tommy Shaw and James “J.Y.” Young also sang lead vocals.

I found this on the intewebs yesterday. I thought I would share it.

Finneas Baird O'Connell (22), also known as FINNEAS, is the older brother of singer Billie Eilish. He has written and produced music for various artists including Billie Eilish.

Crank it. No, I really mean it.

Saw this group on The Tonight Show earlier this week. I was very impressed. They have been nominated for a Grammy for "Best New Artist".

Brian Wilson should be recognized as one the the greatest song writers of his generation and of the past 100 years.

Found this on my feed. The back story is fascinating and the performance is (for the most part) amazing. Definitely a blast from the past.

Crank it.

That's cool. :D
Talking about Steves, there happens to have existed another one, (AFAIK) not related to the guy here or here- but who knows?
Steve Gray was a more than competent exponent of groove and disco, and did a lot of cool stuff. Here's a selection:

Steve Miller is 76 years old but he's still got it! He was on the Tonight show last night and performed one of his classics with the Roots.

Steve has had a fascinating life and he has known a lot of legendary musicians including T-Bone Walker, Les Paul, Boz Scaggs, and so on. If you get a chance to see the interview on the Tonight Show, it's worth the watch.

After reading this thread, there came the epiphany:

How about a Do What loop?

Code: Select all

Do What {
e.g.
Machine BSOD'd
Internet blew up
Xenu has just returned.
}
Or even Doo Wop! Try this sample:

BudRich! That's a name from way back when:
Tatum starts it off his usual classic way, but Granz goes and barfs the recording, upon which Hampton/Tatum try to riff without a double-take. Too long. This rendition is better:

Hint: You have to crank it up to get it all.
