List of Active Windows & #IfWinActive

Is there a global variable or something like ListVars that would report which windows are active & which exist? Besides that, I'm not getting the desired results from #IfWinActive with OneNote. OneNote's ahk_class is Framework::CFrame. ^!f:: #IfWinActive, ahk_class Framework::CFrame MsgBox True retu...

Trying to use for loop to structure redundant data

I'm a bit confused by the for loop syntax used in AHK, and maybe what I'm thinking of is not available, or I'm just unused to the syntax. My goal is to assist in iterating over the same two alternating commands about 50 times. sleep, 25 Send i Ideally, I could use some kind of loop to just repeat th...

Re: Sending an ALT-based chain hotkey?

Thank you Gregster, that helped me with this and a lot of other code problems I've been having. I will definitely try to remember code tags. Thank you. One additional note, I quickly learned I had to add a short delay before the initial LAlt is sent, otherwise I'm still holding down the Alt key when...

Sending an ALT-based chain hotkey?

In MS Office programs like OneNote there are hotkeys that involve non-simultaneous input, rather just chaining the correct keystrokes always following the initial ALT press. For example, to navigate to the Home menu in OneNote, I'd press ALT and then H, rather than simultaneously (though it may not ...

Invalid Chain of Actions

Hi, I don't use AHK too often, so forgive me if this is a common issue. I have a script that works fine if it is written this way: !F1:: Send #1,sleep, 2000, Send !n That is a custom hotkey I have setup to activate my Snipping Tool, and after two seconds it should try to capture an image. That's fin...

DDL & GuiControl Choose acting sporadic

I'm messing around with the Screen Magnifier script, and want to setup a situation where the user presses a hotkey and it changes the DDL setting. This works if the DDL is set to 2 (will change to 4) & if set to 16 (will change to 0.5). I had the same thing happen when I had setup the code a bit dif...

Thank you. Yeah that's what I thought the answer might be. I'll let you know how it comes along. I'm just making it to get experience mostly.

If I have a goal, how do I know what I'll need?

I have read through the documentation here a couple times and looked through several scripts done by others. I understand the concept of external libraries needing to be accessed to get more complex tasks accomplished. Sometimes, though, I don't know what to Google for, and even if I do, the results...

Re: Best Place to Learn Fundamentals

Hello. Somewhat new myself, welcome. If you're looking for the documentation click the home button in the upper left or type in autohotkey.com and click on the square that is divided into three lines and it will bring up a drop down with the documentation. Hope that helps.

Use ..\.. for directory?

Please see my attachment for example. I'm confused what the ..\.. signifies when specifying a file path. It is from the IntelliSense script on the Script Showcase. TY!

Creating Hotkey for Dialog Box

I use a program (FL Studio) that has several plugins that lack hotkeys for their options menus. How would I associate an AHK script with these menus (accessed by left-clicking a drop-down arrow)?
