Run program as NON admin using script that IS running as admin

I am running a master script that includes other scripts. The master is run as an administrator, so therefore it launches programs as an admin. The program notepad++.exe has graphical glitches when run as an admin but not when it is a NON admin. Here is my code to start notepad++.exe (this launches ...

Start, hide, and show Discord.exe window

I created a Hotkey to open and close the discord.exe window. I am hoping someone can help me perfect the code. >!d:: DetectHiddenWindows, On SetTitleMatchMode, 2 SetWorkingDir, C:\Users\%A_UserName%\AppData\Local\Discord ; Set working directory runPath := A_WorkingDir . Re: Report (possibly multiple) processes name's that still exists after it was told to close in msgbox Topic is solved

So I think I have it working. The following code closes the windows and reports the processes in a ToolTip if they are still running. >!m:: SetTimer, findEXE, -1 procArray := ["ONE.exe","TWO.exe","THREE.exe"] Return findEXE: Loop, % procArray.Length() { Process, Exist, % procArray[A_Index] If ErrorL...

Re: Report (possibly multiple) processes name's that still exists after it was told to close in msgbox Topic is solved

Sorry for the late response. Crazy times. I tried your code. It doesn't seem to work. MsgBox shows '0' when using it. I get that if any of the processes are running or not. The closest I came to getting all programs to close was the following code. >!m:: SetTimer, findEXE, -1 Return findEXE: ; ONE P...

Report (possibly multiple) process names that still exist after they were told to close in MsgBox Topic is solved

I am trying to create a hotkey that checks if multiple exe's are running (exists) and closes them. I want to throw a msgbox popup on errorlevel 1 for any of the processes that are found to be running after the command was suppose to have closed it. I want to use a msgbox popup to show the names of e...

Re: kill all explorer.exe windows then reopen explorer.exe active folder Topic is solved

I created a working version to suit my needs. Maybe someone can improve it or find it useful somehow. If anyone can spot any parts that I can (add, remove, change, modify) to optimize this please let me know! >!r:: CoordMode, Mouse, Client SetTitleMatchMode, RegEx explorerRegEx := "ahk_class i)^Cabi...

kill all explorer.exe windows then reopen explorer.exe active folder Topic is solved

I created a registry script that creates a context menu entry in file explorer and allows me to restart all existing windows of file explorer and then reopen file explorer to the same folder I was previously in when I ran the context menu entry. My custom registry entry causes Windows Registry.exe t...

WinActivate not working even though WinGetTitle provides a match... WinClose does work

I can get WinClose to close the program LCore.exe (Logitech Gaming software) but WinActivate wont work even though WinGetTitle outputs the WindowTitle just fine in both instances. I am using indexer variable to test all List queries and have found that indexer variable 1-4 finds results (no other va...

Weird variable behavior, plus other puzzling problems with running programs using the RunAs, USERNAME, PASSWORD, DOMAIN

First issue: I use to be able to call variables created outside of a Hotkey inside of a Hotkey. Now I have to create the variable inside of the Hotkey for it to work. See the below examples for what I am currently experiencing. I call the script in question using a master script with the #Include pa...

Re: How does SetTitleMatchMode, RegEx work behind the scenes to find window title matches

I am having trouble with Spotify.exe. Here is a post from a user trying to help me on another website. Spotify on Windows is a UWP which can cause issues as there are more than one active windows. It seems to me that it is always the 3rd top level window, so you can do things like: ^!F10:: { DetectH...

How does SetTitleMatchMode, RegEx work behind the scenes to find window title matches

I have been using SetTitleMatchMode, RegEx to detect windows that other methods simply cant detect. One example is Spotify.exe that you download from the windows store program. This has lead me to ask myself how does AHK utilize regex behind the scenes to find a match or non match. Below are a coupl...

Hey everyone I am trying to make a hotkey script that will check if a window is not active and perform commands. However, the first of two commands i use is a run, <program> and it captures the generated PID when it is executed but that newly formed PID value is immediately discarded and replaced wi...
