[Release] Drag and Drop Controls from within Other Windows Based Apps

This is more of a silly one, this allows you to re-arrange controls of other windows apps by dragging and dropping their visible controls. You activate it first by hitting Escape and the tooltip informs you that it's on. The ClassNN of the controls is shown in a tooltip as it's being moved. Finally ...

Use DevManView and learn the command line parameters

https://www.nirsoft.net/utils/device_manager_view.html

Then use a Run command

Re: Part of a window has different ClassNN-names while using it

It would be nice to see a screenshot of how this looks, I suspect that this might be one of those apps that has child windows that stay within the main app window... but if this is not the case, you can just use WinActivate

Re: Capture Screen

I've found some success using the command line tool BoxCutter http://keepnote.org/boxcutter/

You can specify the (X1,Y1)-(X2,Y2) coordinates which are compatible with AHK's Screen coords

Use in combination with the run command, then set the clipboard to contain the picture.

Re: hotstring

I don't mean just changing the file extension.. but I mean using the write and read feature of an .ini file, instead of including a .txt file. If you want to use file-read to define hotkeys then the structure of the application needs to change such that data is read from a file and then looped into...

You'll need to evaluate A_IsSuspended the command right after you suspend, and then modify the tray icon then and there

Re: activate a certain window when mouse is over it...help! Topic is solved

Because the window ID changes every time the notes app is launched, you'll first need to use WinGet to store the window ID of the notes app referencing either the EXE or the wintitle

Re: Bug? Abnormal order of evalutation in associative array

Associative arrays are automatically sorted alphabetically and you can't control it. Associative arrays use keys and not indexes like normal arrays, so order is not important.

Re: Problems with finding space character

Most likely what happened is you copied a zero width ascii character. Use my function to reveal it, the char code for a normal space is 32, if it's not 32 then you're dealing with a special character. String := "Test 123" Reveal_ASCII_Code(String) Return Reveal_ASCII_Code(String){ Loop, Parse, % Str...

I did notice when I archive back to the same zip file it prompts me for a password.
You may need to also specify -p for the ADD command also!

Re: Context menu/ Hotkeys conflict re. menuitemname ampersands

Even though the hotkey is associated with an #IfWinActive tied to your GUI, when you trigger the context menu the GUI still never loses focus , and therefore does the intended behaviour. When you define a hotkey it uses an input hook in the OS itself on a low level which supersedes all other default...

Re: Extracting and Zipping .7z folders? Topic is solved

Yes that is possible You will need to learn the 7z.exe command line parameters to specify a password and an extract directory, then you would just use a Run command with 7z.exe and specify those parameters Same thing with re-zipping with a password For loading text into a gui use FileRead https://se...

Re: Context menu/ Hotkeys conflict re. menuitemname ampersands

The documentation is correct. The functionality of being able to select a menu item via keypress is a global windows feature, not a feature created by AHK. (not to be confused with the ability to assign a key via ampersand to a menu item which is an ahk ability) Saying this, if you remapped the key ...
