Re: Interacting with IE with COM Interface and Java Script

As gregster pointed out this solved the problem:

ie.document.getElementById("application").contentDocument.getElementById("USERNAME.DUMMY.DUMMY").value := "Mary" :bravo: :superhappy:

Re: Interacting with IE with COM Interface and Java Script

Why i asked for all your code was that in one of your images you had sleep between the navigate and the element interaction but in your 4 lines of code you do not after a navigate event you have to wait for the document your navigating to load before trying to interact with any elements on the new ...

Re: Interacting with IE with COM Interface and Java Script

Oh yeah, and of course you should make reference to the actual COM object, for example: ie.document.getElementById("application").contentDocument.getElementById("USERNAME.DUMMY.DUMMY").value := "Mary" So add ie or whatever you called the IE COM object when you created an instance of the COM interfa...

Re: Interacting with IE with COM Interface and Java Script

Script issues are easier to help with if we see all of your code and if we have access to the thing giving you issues in your case one line is most likely not the only part of the problem so maybe post more of your script, also without access to your page with the framed elements it is harder to gi...

Re: Interacting with IE with COM Interface and Java Script

Assuming your web browser control is in the variable wb , any of these two lines should work: wb.document.frames["application"].getElementById("USERNAME.DUMMY.DUMMY").value := "Mary" wb.document.parentWindow.frames["application"].getElementById("USERNAME.DUMMY.DUMMY").value := "Mary" Thanks Getfree...

Re: Interacting with IE with COM Interface and Java Script

You are right gregster || iframe.contentWindow.document is wrong it should be || iframevar.contentWindow.document However it seems like Console cared only about iframevar.contentDocument and ignored || iframe.contentWindow.document Anyhow, I have now reduced the three code lines to just one, this wo...

Re: Interacting with IE with COM Interface and Java Script

Getfree you were right, the field is inside a frame. I have found the solution and it works fine in Chrome Console. var iframevar = document.getElementById("application") ; var innerDoc = iframevar.contentDocument || iframe.contentWindow.document ; innerDoc.getElementById("USERNAME.DUMMY.DUMMY").val...

Re: Interacting with IE with COM Interface and Java Script

Based on the HTML I see in that screenshot, any of these should work: document.getElementById("USERNAME.DUMMY.DUMMY").value := "Mary" document.getElementsByName("USERNAME.DUMMY.DUMMY.1")[0].value := "Mary" If they don't work, a possible cause is that the field is inside a frame or that there are ot...

Re: Interacting with IE with COM Interface and Java Script

As far as I know, there isn't a method called getElementByClass , so this line will never work: IE.document.getElementByClass("button__Button-sc-18qod6g-0 eIOrzB").Click() This other line can work if you fix the class name, like this: IE.document.getElementsByClassName('button__Button-sc-18qod6g-0'...

Interacting with IE with COM Interface and Java Script

I have noticed that in some websites I can't interact with some of the elements while with other elements in the same website I have no problem. All have attributes visible with an 'Inspect' I would prefer to stay with IE since I will mix COM Interface and Java script In the first example https://ad...

Re: Return string to cmd screen from compiled .exe AHK script Topic is solved

Thank you all. This did the trick:

Fileappend:
Standard Output (stdout): Specifying an asterisk (*) for Filename causes Text to be sent to standard output (stdout).

Easier than I thought.

Re: Return string to cmd screen from compiled .exe AHK script Topic is solved

Is there really nobody that can help how to make an .exe compiled ahk file return a string when executed in console? My AHK .exe file performs some logic and returns the results in the form of a semicolon separated string. Something like 34223423;23423545;234234 Is it possible to have the .exe file ...

Return string to cmd screen from compiled .exe AHK script Topic is solved

I am using AHK v. 1.1.30.1 I execute the .exe in cmd and wish it to return the value to screen. I have tried: return ExitApp ExitCode (it whould be possible to return an expression from this) Str...

Re: Copy highlighted text

Hi, I just tested something: If you use your method and search for the text and it is highlighted and you are sure that it appears only once, what I did was the following: I searched for it via Ctrl+F (it got highlighted), I pressed "Next" (or Shorcut "Enter") which did not really do anything becau...

Re: Copy highlighted text

As an alternative plan:

If Ctrl+f finds a string. Is there any returned system value (like Errorlevel?) that indicates FOUND or NOT FOUND? That would be good enough for me.

Re: Copy highlighted text

Hi, just a question: Why do you want to copy the text that got highlighted as a result of a search for text that you entered? Wouldn't that just be the same text? NO. If the search is case-insensitive the returned text could be with a different case than the searched text. Correct. And the ...

Re: Copy highlighted text

Hi, just another suggestion, if you don't want to do it that way, we're going your way. I just checked that, if you operate via COM, every name of those fields is contained in the HTML-class named "rfcontent clearfix". So if you read this class into a variable, you can always check with "InStr" (ev...
