I suppose this should help: Device Events (Core Audio APIs).
Yes that looks promising, thank you.

On message code for microphone configuration change Topic is solved

I have a script that needs to detect when people's computer microphone configuration has changed. For instance, plugging in a new microphone or unplugging an existing microphone. I am using OnMessage(0x219, "WM_DEVICECHANGE") To detect device changes on the computer which works for the most part. Th...

On Message Event For User Switch?

Does anyone know the onmessage() number for when a user switches? Not sleeping or hibernating... I think they call it fast switching. Or maybe that's the wrong way to go about it... I basically just want the code to catch when somebody does a 'fast switch' user switch, meaning they don't logout, the...

I have a script that I desperately want this functionality for :-) there is a $100 PayPal donation to whoever can provide working code!

Sorry for being so slow to reply... I missed this message.

I would be quite happy to accept restarting Explorer as part of the fix. If you can post working code, I'd be grateful :-)

Re: Is there a way to put an icon outside the hidden tray icons by default?

I also really need this. Thought I would share a link for a solution using powershell and GPO: https://4sysops.com/archives/forcing-notification-area-icons-to-always-show-in-windows-7-or-windows-8/ Understanding that code well enough to convert it to autohotkey is well above my pay grade, but I thou...

Unlock Folder

Is anybody aware of a way to unlock a file or folder to ensure it can be deleted?

I'm running into all kinds of trouble with trying to delete a folder but being unable to because some other application is using it.

Getting The Default Microphone DeviceNumber

I'm working on a script that needs to reliably turn up the user's default microphone. Looking at the documentation for SoundSet And playing around on my own machine I found that to be reliable I'm first going to need to suss out the default microphones DeviceNumber. 'SoundSet, 100, Microphone' often...

Tooltip Drop Shadow Modification

Has anyone ever played with modifying the drop shadow on a tooltip? I would love to make the drop shadow match what you see on Windows Explorer folders.

Re: ToolTipFont / ToolTipColor - options for the ToolTip command

Is anybody aware of a way to alter the drop shadow on a tooltip? I would love it if it could look like the default shadows on windows 10 Microsoft Explorer.

Gui That Auto Increases Width with Text Content

I'm wondering if somebody can give me an example of a simple GUI that automatically gets wider with the text variable it contains.

So instead of wrapping the text and the GUI getting taller, it just gets wider.

Basically, the behavior of a ToolTip but in a GUI.

Re: [LIB] TrayIcon - Sean's TrayIcon for Unicode and 64 bit

Hi cyruz (or anyone else who would like to jump in), Circling back to this after a year or so, I'm wondering if the recent W10 versions (1909 and 2004) have created a way to do this. What I'm hoping for is an enhanced TrayIcon_Move function that supports the sTray parameter for both the Old and the...

Special Character Issue

I'm having an issue working with the open quote symbol. If you look at my code below, it's setting the last character of the variable final to an open quote symbol. Then final last is that symbol. When the Msgbox pops though it comes out as ce or something like that and my if statement fails. Any id...

Automating Multiple Tabs/Windows With Chrome.ahk

I'm not sure what I'm missing, but when I create two separate tabs and try to navigate to a new URL in the second tab, it always does it in the first tab. Here is my code... #Include %A_ScriptDir%\libs\Chrome\Chrome.ahk profile = chrome\Data\profile\Default flags = url1 = https://mail.google.com/ Ch...

I feel like I'm missing something obvious, but how do I launch a separate chrome instance in its own window instead of a new tab?
