Re: What's the deal with Captchas?

Not ignoring your advise at all. So far I think I have AHK pretty well figured out (for what I need it to do). But learning AHK was an uphill battle for a 52 year old man with pretty much no programming skills. I don't know if I could learn to work with API too. But my script is almost ready to go l...

Re: What's the deal with Captchas?

Can you link the API? AHK can usually interact with them over HTTP https://hodlhodl.com/api/docs But it's more complicated than just the one site API. I have to get a Bitcoin wallet, Firefox, Thunderbird email, and a banking app all to work together. So far I got it pretty well figured out. Except ...

Re: What's the deal with Captchas?

I definitely prefer using an API over website automation. It's usually more reliable and faster. Hey, give me a break. I'm just starting out with AHK and it's a long time since I played with Basic language some 30 years ago. Prior to this, the 30 years ago Basic is my only real programming experien...

What's the deal with Captchas?

Guys, I just don't get it. Two of the sites I am writing my script for have those stupid Captchas. You know, to make sure I'm not a robot. Yet they both publish their API. And support for one of them even told me straight out they are fine with me automating my dealings with them. So what's the capt...

Removing letters from clipboard to get a numerical value? Topic is solved

Hi all. I would like to remove letters from the clipboard so as to only keep the numbers to get a %number% value. The clipboard might be 79.01 CAD or 1005.78 CAD or anything in between. But I want to use them as the numbers 79.01 or 1005.78. How do I loose the "_CAD" part? Note that it will always b...

Re: search for text in an email? Topic is solved

And so how would I do it if I wanted to check for "my_text" and %my_number% within a text copied into the clipboard?

INI numbers syntax?

When writing an .ini file, do I write numbers and words or strings in the same way?

For example:
I know Paul's gender would be
Paul_gender=male
But what about Paul's age?
Paul_age=50
Or
Paul_age:=50

Re: Any limits on ImageSearch?

Okay, I don't think you inderstand. The script I am building has some ImageSearch commands in it. As I was building the script, the ImageSearch commands were working. But as I added more ImageSearch commands, the new ones weren't working. And eventually, even the ones that once did work, stopped wor...

Re: Any limits on ImageSearch?

Update: I copied the file path into the script you provided. Here is the script after I edited it: SingleInstance, Force SetWorkingDir % A_ScriptDir if !dll := DllCall("LoadLibrary", "Str", (A_PtrSize = 4 ? "x86" : "x64") "_debugImageSearch.dll", "Ptr") { MsgBox % "failed to load library " A_LastErr...

Re: Any limits on ImageSearch?

just run debugImageSearch.ahk after unzipping the .zip I just did. MsgBox popped up: Not found. But that file is absolutely on my Desktop. I clicked properties > security> Object name and copied the path here: ‪C:\Users\pepel\Desktop\New_contract_folder_bold_whited.png Why is it not seeing the .PNG...

Persistent variables? Topic is solved

Hey guys.
Is there a way to keep a variable persistent? Even after you close the script and reboot the machine?

search for text in an email? Topic is solved

Okay. So my script will generate two variables. One is a number, and the other is a word. I would like my script to search incoming emails for a specific email that would contain those two variables. I run Thunderbird so it can convert my emails to plain text if need be. Can AHK do that? Can is sear...

Re: Any limits on ImageSearch?

ErrorLevel 2 means the image couldn't be loaded(due to the supplied image path being wrong or extremely unlikely internal Windows reasons) either ur paths are bad or ur folder structure is bad, which basically boils down to ur paths being bad also theres no A_#ScriptDir builtin variable Here is wha...

Re: Any limits on ImageSearch?

Okay, here's an update. I tried cropping all my .PNG files down to no more than 20-30 pixels. And I narrowed down my search area by a great deal. Still, the ErrorLevel keeps popping up at 2. So I tried a little test. I copied one of my image searches from the larger script, to a smaller test script....

Any limits on ImageSearch?

Guys, I'm writing up a script that has a lot of ImageSearch commands. But as I ad more .PNG files, and more ImageSearch commands, the image searches eventually stop working, and producing only ErrorLevel 2 results. At first I though there was too many .PNG files in a given folder. So I subdivided my...

Re: ImageSearch not working???

Well, what I found after a lot of trying is that it appears there can't be too many .PNG files in the same folder. For some reason, after a certain amount of .PNG files in a given folder, it stops working. My issue simply got solved by putting some .PNG files in a subfolder. I don't understand it, b...

ImageSearch not working???

Hey guys. I'm having a real hard time figuring out what's wrong with my image searches. The following script always turns up no value for x and y, and a ErrorLevel 2 when I maximize and activate Thunderbird: CoordMode, Mouse, Screen CoordMode, Pixel, Screen SetTitleMatchMode, 2 WinWaitActive, Thunde...
