Re: [Library] Chrome.ahk - Automate Google Chrome using native AutoHotkey. No Selenium!

Ah, that makes sense. So, "%value%" was probably just a typographical error, intended to be "%val%". I've now made that correction in my copy of Chrome.ahk. Thank you.

Warning on %value%

I'm getting another warning on Chrome.ahk. The previous one was happening all the time, but this one just started, so I don't know if there's something in my code that has caused it to occur, but the code in Chrome.ahk does seem to be problematic. The warning is: <stderr>: Warning in #include file "...

Re: How to do a find text in a Chrome window in the background?

From experimenting, I have a partial answer to my previous question. I have not found out how to bring up the "Find" box, but I have succeeded in (a) simulating the behavior of the "Find" box, and (b) bringing up a dialog box that is in the browser window and is not part of the webpage (i.e., not pa...

How to do a find text in a Chrome window in the background?

How do I open the find box in a Chrome window in the background and do a search for text? Manually, I can do this with Ctrl-F. If the window is active, I can send that with the "send" command. But that doesn't work, and neither does ControlSend, when the window is in the background. The find box is ...

Re: Use page.evaluate() to get element value?

What am I doing wrong? Oops. In the debugger, I looked at sZipSet, and it told me it was an object. So I suffixed ".value" on page.evaluate(), so that line 15 of the above code became: sZipSet := oWebpage.evaluate("document.getElementById('OZipCode').value").value With that, the message box gave th...

Use page.evaluate() to get element value?

I learned above that I can use Javascript in page.evaluate() to set the value of a webpage element. Now I'm trying to do the reverse of that. In Chrome.ahk, the code for page.evaluate() says that it returns "response.result", which it appears is supposed to be whatever the Javascript command returns...

Re: Captcha problem in Chrome

The script is a couple hundred lines in four files and is not specific to a single site, so I did some experimentation in order to answer your question. I found that the problem exists outside of AHK, when the site is not being accessed via any script, but just manually. I tested the following three...

Captcha problem in Chrome

I was previously developing an AHK script for use in Firefox, but switched to Chrome in order to use Chrome.ahk. In Firefox, in the Captcha box, I could usually just check "I'm not a robot" and get through. If I got a challenge, it would only take one or two correct answers to get through. Since swi...

Warning on URLString

Specifically: URLString (a local variable) Line# ... ---> 093: URLString .= " " this.CliEscape(URL) ... I have ...

Solved -- and next issue Topic is solved

Solved. I've implemented Chrome and Chrome.ahk and confirmed that it solved the problem. I've selected gregster 's post with the Chrome.ahk script as the solution because I used that code as the prototype to work from. But I wish I could have also selected replies from Xtra and A_AhkUser that were ...

How to run an onClick function?

Okay, I've got Chrome and Chrome.ahk up and working. Looking good. So now, when I need to put text in a text box on a webpage, instead of simulating a click in the box and keystrokes, I just set the value of the text box with JavaScript. Very cool. But now, what about this: A page I'm working with h...

See __New meta-function.
Ah! Excellent. Now I know what those mysterious __New() methods in Chrome.ahk are. I've added that link to the documentation of Chrome.ahk that I prepared.

And thanks for the rest of your answer. All helpful. Now I understand @gregster's Chrome.ahk script.

Re: How to send text to a location in a window? Topic is solved

Xtra and A_AhkUser , yes, I have downloaded Chrome and Chrome.ahk and have started working on implementing them in my project. It looks like Chrome.ahk will be a good and helpful facility once I get up to speed in it. In the meantime, I remain curious about what's going on with ControlSend. When I ...

Re: Is the 'Message'- tutorial still valid?

Why would you say that? It's possible that the reason is complete ignorance, coupled with paranoia. I saw one place that said it's compatible with Win10, and it was an unknown (to me) site that was offering the file for download. I typically only download software that's been positively reviewed by...

You can see what controlsend sends with spy++.
Yes, I've just learned about Spy++ in another thread. I've installed VS to get it. Now I just have to find the time to get up to speed in it! It looks interesting and I'm looking forward to seeing what I learn from it.

the answer to my question is that the tutorial for that is no longer valid
how did u conclude that?
Because it states a requirement to use software that almost certainly is not compatible with Win10. The reference to Winspector should probably be replaced with VS and Spy++.

Re: How to send text to a location in a window? Topic is solved

You should be using: WinWait The window most likely does not have the wintitle in 1sec. Actually, I'm pretty sure it does because I remember running the code in a debugger and checking the value of "nAHK_ID_ZipSearch", and it had the correct AHK ID of the "Parcel Sandbox" window as determined by a ...
