Re: Edit control toggle layout

The Gui documentation may help you. Someone else asked the same question recently, so you may also find some helpful posts through the forum search function. Below is one example. https://www.autohotkey.com/boards/viewtopic.php?p=367188#p367188 What i dont understand in that example is how to repla...

Edit control toggle layout

The windows gui does not behave like im used to for example HTML CSS. Do i understand correctly that controls dont automatically push each other so they dont overlap? I wanted to do an edit control by switching a text and an edit control from enablet to disabled and the other way around. Thinking th...

Auto increase size of edit control

Is it possible to get an edit control to resize vertically when adding text and rows beyond what it has space for?

Re: Item editor modal

Yes, as that is what I imagined you wanted, from your description. Each item has an edit button and I want the textbox to be editable when edit is clicked. So it would need to change into an edit text control with an OK and cancel buttons. Yes exactly. OK I get it. So when I declare a label for a h...

When you add a "row" or group, you can increment an item counter that then uses that counter in each of the variables or control names. You could try it with two or three groups to see how it works.
Would each row than have its own button handler that toggles the controls of that row?

Re: Item editor modal

Hmmm I don't get it. If I have an unknown amount of items how could I set it up so that BtnEditX will show EditTextX and OkButtonX without knowing their number?

You could give your groups similar names, so that, for example, if you click on checkbox1, it enables edit1, checkbox2 enables edit2, and so on.
And parse the controller name for the nr to target the other controls with the same nr?

At least two ways:

1. Controls can be disabled or set to read-only, so you could create toggles as you wish.
Is there any easy way to group controls?

Item editor modal

What would be a typical ahk way to do a edit form function for an item list? I've managed to do gui that lists a set of items with texts. Each item has an edit button and I want the textbox to be editable when edit is clicked. So it would need to change into an edit text control with an OK and cance...

V1 vs V2 Topic is solved

Is there any summary of the differences between V1 and V2? I started reading the V2 manual but havent really found anything i dont remember from V1.

Im learning V1 but im thinking that maybe its better to learn V2 straight away.

You can do that using a Loop to add as many rows as you want. Just like other AHK commands, Gui (including Gui, Add) accepts variables as well.
So it's possible to get the gui to scale with the dynamic content?

Layout with AHK GUI Topic is solved

Ive tried watching several tutorials about how to create a gui. What i cant find info about is how to layout the controls dynamically. I understand its possible to place everything with hard coded coordinates but what if i want a dynamic amount of rows and have each row contain a set of controls tha...

WriteIni not saving values correctly

Im trying IniWrite and IniRead but are having some issues. What i would expect, and the result i get in smaller tests, is that if i write to the same key in the same section then the value i write will replace any already existing value. Im using https://github.com/cocobelgica/AutoHotkey-JSON to par...

Re: Capture mouse clicks Topic is solved

Oh, key history was very easy and handy. For anyone else just add this.

Code: Select all

#InstallKeybdHook
#InstallMouseHook
#s::KeyHistory
Then pressing windows key + s will pop up a window with all the info needed.

Capture mouse clicks Topic is solved

Is there any way i can capture what mouse key has been pressed and store the value?
Also, how do you know how to bind a hotkey to the lesser common mouse buttons? I know back and forward is XMouse 1 and 2. But there are mouses with several more to me unknown keys.

Re: Getting menus as objects

If you don't keep track, it would take extra work. Below is some information. https://autohotkey.com/board/topic/39011-how-to-get-popup-menu-items/ Each menu item is assigned an ID when it is first added to the menu. Scripts cannot rely on an item receiving a particular ID, but can retrieve the ID ...

Sure, if your script creates the menu, then you know what the menu items are. You can use a loop to create or save any of the items.
My question is if i need to keep track of it or if i can get the information from the menu objects when needed?

Getting menus as objects

When i use the Menu command to create context menus is there a way i can get the menus and iterate over the menu items for example to list them or save them? The way i do it now is to store the same data in a colletion when i add them to a menu, but if the menus are available then i wouldnt have to ...
