Re: Upcoming Ahk2Exe Changes (2019)

The compiler leaves behind a scratch file in the user temp directory. The file name is of the form "~temp82727923.tmp" with the number changing on each compile. This scratch file is actually the compiled program -- it is identical to the compiled program created in the directory with the source. Sin...

Re: Test build - InputHook, long paths, switch-case

Switch is very nice addition, and I too would welcome it in V1 (so that I could go back to using a regular rather than a test version of AutoHotkey).

Re: Test build - Obj.Count(), OnError(), long paths, experimental switch-case

Is there a good chance that the switch-case statement will make it into the main line release? Maybe even soon?

Re: what are some ahk programming mistakes that tend to 'fail silently' with no warning and took you a long time to catc

Number one error for me, time after time, and very hard to find (time after time): writing a plain equals sign (not a colon-equals) for assignment. Too many other languages in my mental baggage use the equals for assignment and the habit (maybe even muscle-memory habit) is very hard to break.

Re: alphabet icons

These icons are truly gorgeous. If you are able to make them easily, I have a small request. I'd really like to have the letter "Q" icon in the same style as the letter "O" icon, with the body size similar and not squeezed to make room for the tail. As it stands, the Q is distinctly different from a...

Re: Microsoft Surface Pro 3 pen barrel button customization

Can this script be used to reverse the actions between the top button and the side button? I suspect not. The top button is actually translated by driver software into F20 and F21 for single and double clicks (see the second post above, with the link given by lblb), and so it is trivial to do whate...

Re: [Solved] Puzzle with asterisk hotkey prefix

Ah, me, dumbness dumbness everywhere . . . . I use a home-brew precompiler for AutoHotkey (it helps me to do various things more naturally for me). One thing it does is allow an asterisk to be used as a comment marker (like the semicolon in AutoHotkey) unless overridden for a specific line. The prec...

[Solved] Puzzle with asterisk hotkey prefix

In a huge script I have the lines #IfWinActive, ahk_exe AnyTimer.exe LButton:: OutputDebug, DID DOWN JUNK SendInput, {Blind}{LButton Down} Return LButton Up:: OutputDebug, DID UPPE JUNK SendInput, {Blind}{LButton Up} Return #IfWinActive and these work as expected. When, however, I add the asterisk p...

Re: OnMessage with Empty Second Parameter Generates Error

Can't really help, because your script works fine here (Win 7 64-bit and 64-bit AHK). I had to delete the first line ("Gui(...}") because that function is not present in your sample. The script then runs nicely. I then added to your script a dummy function WM_LButtonDown (to match what you supply to...

Re: close tab with RCtrl

Nextron is correct in that what goes on in the Firefox screen is essentially opaque and unpararsable, except to Firefox. I might suggest (although again I thing RControl by itself is a dangerous thing as I said in the second post) that you use RControl plus a left or right arrow to do the switching ...

Re: close tab with RCtrl

This closes the active tab on my Firefox (ver 33.0.2) by sending the standard close-tab shorkcut (Control+w). #IfWinActive, ahk_class MozillaWindowClass ahk_exe firefox.exe RControl::SendInput, ^w Possibly Mozilla uses MozillaWindowClass windows elsewhere, and that is why I added the ahk_exe conditi...

Re: LWin hotkey suppresses WM_INPUT message

Brilliant. Two of the thre LWin keys get trapped by this, and I do get the WM_INPUT that indicates where the keystroke came from. The third key is the Windows key on the bezel of the Surface Pro 3. According to the "key history and script info" view of the running AHK interface, this third key prese...

FWIW I discovered a couple of days ago how to change the board style and am using "prosilver". It is great, in part I think to all the work you have been doing above. It is compact, I see no extrraneous tooltips, and it is easy to read. Thanks.

Re: LWin hotkey suppresses WM_INPUT message

I am giving up on this. After many trials and errors, I reach one of two states. If I define an LWin key, then I can suppress (redefine) the action of LWin but I cannot determinte the source of the LWin keystroke. If I do not define an LWin key, then (using WM_INPUT) I can determine the source of th...

Re: How to search forum for terms like WM_INPUT?

Thanks, GeekDude and Blackholyman; I've made a sarch link in my browser homepage that has thie site modifiers already filled in. My first tests were disappoing, though: google "site:ahkscript.org/boards/ | site:autohotkey.com/board/ Query WM_INPUT" does not produce many hits. But then the coffee kic...

Re: LWin hotkey suppresses WM_INPUT message

OK, but I still don't understand what is happening as accurately as I'd like. Here is what I infer from the immediately above post. AHK sees WM_KEYDOWN, finds a matching hotkey, fires the hotkey, and returns to Windows saying that the WM_KEYDOWN has been processed. If no matching hotkey had been fou...

Re: Microsoft Surface Pro 3 pen barrel button customization

In the script, which is intended as an example, the taps are customized to do "OutputDebug" operations -- replace that with something else. However, in real life, I have this, which changes taps with the bottom button pressed into middle mouse button clicks. That way, no buttons equals left click, u...
