Use strsplit.
Hi Helgef, I don't know what I'm doing wrong but I can't get StrSplit to work.

I try this:

Code: Select all

myArray := StrSplit(Clipboard, `n,`r)
but I get the "variable name contains an illegal character" error.

Re: A GUI UpDown In Lieu of InputBox Topic is solved

Hi madmoneymike5, I'm not an AHK expert at all but, from what I can see, you'll need to create the Cancel button just like you did with the OK button. And you need Return after Gui, Show so the Gui will stay open while waiting for user input. Does this help: Gui, Add, Edit Gui, Add, UpDown, vNumOfCo...

Format DateTime Topic is solved

HI there, it's bound to be something really silly on my part but why does this not work? The first msgbox shows the datetime selected in the control, but the second msgbox always shows today's date. #SingleInstance force SetWorkingDir %A_ScriptDir% Gui, Add, DateTime, vdob_enter Gui, Add, Button, de...

Re: [Editor] CodeQuickTester - Write and run code without saving to a temporary file

Hi there, this is such a nifty little script. So helpful! I have a couple of requests. First, will you please make it possible to open it maximised, or at least remember the last window setting? And second, will you please change the wording for "Open Help File" to specify that it's the AutoHotkey h...

Re: AutoGUI - Script Editor and GUI Designer

You can do it. Start your script. (Using AutoGui 2.2.0, should work with other versions) File -> Import Gui -> Clone window. You'll see a window where it says "Activate the target window and click the "Clone" button". Choose your script, click "Activate", click "Clone". You'll see a clone of your s...

Re: Including files and folders

Ignore the spoiler. Aye, aye, aye. I had a long post going on trying to solve this, but, you're totally right that you were changing the directory for subsequent # Include s. You weren't including all the ahk scripts inside each subfolder, no. You were setting the directory for subsequent additions...

Re: Including files and folders

This is all speculation, I haven't tested. But maybe if you have included SetWorkingDir %A_ScriptDir% inside of any of those included files, it updates to where that included file is rather than the "parent" script. If this is the case, I would bet it could be bypassed/resolved by including SetWork...

Including files and folders

Hi there, I'm a little confused about how including files and folders works. At top of my script I have: #NoEnv #SingleInstance force SetWorkingDir %A_ScriptDir% #include %A_ScriptDir%\docs #include ColorConstants.ahk #include Functions.ahk #include text_for_welcome.ahk #include text_for_intro.ahk T...

Same controls across multiple GUIs

Hi there, I have a script with multiple, numbered GUIs. Three of the GUIs include the same three buttons - Back, Restart, and Exit - which I have manually created in each GUI and manually make any blanket changes to each GUI one-at-a-time. So I would like to know: 1) Is there a way to use a subrouti...

Re: Use variable in a function

so close! Try this: ;called with this ChangeBackgroundImage(image3) ; <<<< no %% ;from this in the include file ChangeBackgroundImage(ChangeToWhat) { GuiControl,, BackgroundImage, %ChangeToWhat% } I hope that helps. Thanks heaps, I honestly don't know how that wasn't one of the combinations I tried...

Use variable in a function

Hi there, I know there are countless threads and help about using variables in functions but I can't for the life of me find what I need help with. I have a list of variables for various background images in my GUI: image1 = %A_ScriptDir%\path\to\image\filename1.jpg image2 = %A_ScriptDir%\path\to\im...

Re: Read a specific row in a csv file

well this can also be done simply by COM msgbox, % ComObjGet("my.csv").workSheets(1).Range("j2").value ; where "j" is 10th coloumns and 2 is row number ;) it might not work withot excel installed Thanks Xeo786, That works great! If this method may not work without Excel installed, does that mean th...

Re: Read a specific row in a csv file

I need to tell it which row to look at and then which column/s of that row Still the same concept. There's no difference what you are searching for as long as it's an individual/specific item like a row/line number, star sign, ... Let's assume you've set the consecutive row/line numbers in the last...

Re: Read a specific row in a csv file

Thanks BoBo, It works, sort of - it returns information but not for the cell at column 5 of row 10. Well, it returns the content of whatever cell of the first row/line where a cell with a content (like "Sagittarius") has been found. Assuming that you have a single row/line for each sign, mission ac...

Re: Read a specific row in a csv file

So I've found some code that uses FileRead instead the built csv function with Loop/Parse. I altered it so that it works for what I require. Would just like some advice as to whether this a good way of doing it? FileName = C:\Users\Deanna\Documents\Astrology\Book2.csv sign = "Sagittarius" FileRead, ...

Read a specific row in a csv file

Hi there, I have a script that receives a date of birth from input then determines the astrological star sign for that date of birth. Now I want to tell the script to read the row in the csv file that corresponds to that star sign (eg: Sagittarius is row 10). How do I loop/read (for rows) and loop/p...
