Re: WatchFolder() - updated on 2016-11-30

@Skrell - Even if your script doesn’t have a lot of lines, it can still be the source of the problem. For example, using RunWait could have your script waiting on your virus scan software to close, causing your script to hang up. You should post your script so the forum can determine if there are a...

Re: WatchFolder() - updated on 2016-11-30

Hi there, I've just started using this fantastic script to monitor 5 directories for new files downloaded/created and then kick off an exe which scans them for viruses. I run the script as an admin, but at some point after running it hangs forever... Do you have any suggestion for figuring out why? ...

Re: Can't seem to Runwait exe with spaced file paths

So interestingly....it appears as if when I run as admin it works fine... Still testing, but I might be ok now. Many thanks!

Re: Can't seem to call exe with right combination of paranthesis

FileExist can verify whether the file exists. The second parameter is the working directory, not the options. The file absolutely exists. The problem is when the parameters are parsed the file Name seems to not have quotes properly fed to the exe. How else could it work fine when I change the file ...

Can't seem to Runwait exe with spaced file paths

Why does this MsgBox show the correct line of code I'd like to run but when I run it, it fails saying file not found?? NOTE that Name = a filepath with spaces in it. If I define Name to be a file WITHOUT a space it works properly. Name := """" . Name . """" MsgBox, % "C:\EEK\bin64\a2cmd.exe" . A_Spa...

Re: Change titlebar and border color of current window

It would be amazing if this script could be grown into automatically coloring windows based on their icon! There was an old freeware app that could do this called aeroblend but the biggest flaw it had (IMO) was that you couldn't force the colors of designated windows to be a saved value. In other wo...

Re: WinPos_ : What you see is what you move.

I'm sure this is a stupid question, but what do you enter for hWnd to make use of these functions? Is the only way to get this ID by using WinExist()?

I don't understand the advantages of this over the default autohotkey functions? Is it possible the x,y,w,h values could be different ?

Re: horizontal scrolling in Windows Explorer?

See https://autohotkey.com/docs/Hotkeys.htm#Wheel This does not work with Windows Explorer...it works with other applications but not WinExplorer. Unfortunately this is the behavior I've found with most of these horizontal scroll scripts... Hoping someone somewhere figured out the exception to make...

Re: [Function] WinGetPosEx v0.1 (Preview) - Get the real position and size of a window

Too bad then. :( Wish I could help but there isn't (and never will be) any W10 machine near me to test possible changes to the function. Hopefully someone else here would chime in. Good luck! There are like 63 pages of posts at the link you posted...can you perhaps highlight a few of the more meani...

MouseGetPos wrong?

I currently have a script that based on the location of the mouse when releasing the Left Mouse Button, a decision is made....and 95% of the time it works great; however, once in a while the wrong decision will be made as if the mouse is located about 200 pixels off of where it appears to be. Is the...

Re: OnWin() - call function on window event (WinWaitXXX async)

if the sub tasks could be organizated as threads (not processes), that would be more nice in Windows Task Manager. I thought that this is what the SetTimer routine did which is why I originally questioned the advantage of this script over one that simply uses a bunch of SetTimers. Am I incorrect in...

Re: OnWin() - call function on window event (WinWaitXXX async)

@evilC: The sample code is not updated. Regardless, it's just an example to demonstrate OnWin() . ;) @Skrell: Ease of use, reusable, additional functionality esp. the ability to have the monitoring done in a separate process. You can group certain window event monitors, etc. We occasionally see hel...

What are the advantages to using this script over just a bunch of SetTimer functions ? Ease of use? Performance?

If in doubt,

Code: Select all

MsgBox % A_AhkVersion " " (A_IsUnicode ? "Unicode " : "ANSI ") (A_PtrSize*8 "-bit")
Yep.
