Never ceases to amaze me how many problems in Windows can be fixed with a reboot. :) Glad that all is well now even though you don't know what caused the problem and why a reboot fixed it. Regards, Joe

Thanks for uploading a121. My "Check for V2 Update" script detected it via the version.txt file and the download worked fine, as did running it. Regards, Joe

Re: version.txt not updated for 2.0-a120-07960753

OK, thanks for the explanation. I saw the a120 announcement, but then my "Check for V2 Update" script (which looks at what I'm running and compares it to the contents of version.txt) said that my version (a119) was current. Regards, Joe

Hi Steve,

Click on the magnifying glass next to the Search box (upper right). That takes you to the Advanced search page. Enter your search criteria and your user name. Here's the key: tick the Topics radio button (default will be Posts):

Something must be...as you can see, the test script that is identical to yours (except that it uses notepad.exe) works perfectly here. Sounds as if you have a large script...something in there is likely the culprit. Regards, Joe

Re: Simple command working independently, not in script

Hi LM, I just tested the following script in W10 v1909 64-bit with AHK v1.1.33.02/U64: SetTitleMatchMode,2 $+home:: WinGetTitle,target,ahk_exe notepad.exe MsgBox, target:`n%target% ; second line remains empty Return When I hit Shift+Home, it worked fine: WinGetTitle working.png Seems that something ...

version.txt not updated for 2.0-a120-07960753

The V2 version.txt file has 2.0-a119-179d27fd in it. Presumably, it should have 2.0-a120-07960753 in it. Regards, Joe

Re: Toggle ON a simple script while holding enough time Topic is solved

Hi s91m, It sounds as if you have a Spanish keyboard where Shift+3 is the middot/interpunct symbol (B7/183). Why not simply use something else for the times/multiplication symbol (D7/215), maybe Shift+F12 or, if you're really wedded to to the 3 key for it, Shift+Ctrl+3 or Alt+Ctrl+3. Seems to me to ...

Fascinating theory...sounds very plausible.

Re: Msgbox with Var Topic is solved

How can it be displayed? Hi Kevin, Two things: (1) You're missing a Gui,Submit subcommand. That's what saves the contents of each control to its associated variable. Without that, the If statement comparing card1 with card2 is meaningless, because those variables don't have the values that were ent...

Re: How to get a list of open tabs in Firefox

This post contains the needed functions Hi flyingDman, Thanks for posting that. On W10, I just tested JEE_FirefoxGetTabCount and JEE_FirefoxGetTabNames with Firefox 79.0/64-bit; also just tested JEE_ChromeGetTabCount(Handle) and JEE_ChromeGetTabNames(Handle) with Chrome 84.0.4147.105/64-bit...all w...

One idea is to click the "List all tabs" drop-down in the upper right...looks like this:

Clicking that gives you a scrollable list of all open tabs...simply click on one to go to it. Regards, Joe

Re: Cannot change tray icon when starting script using Task Scheduler

the script runs at logon but the hotkey does not work. i tried with highest privileges Program/script: "C:\Program Files\AutoHotkey\AutoHotkeyU64.exe" Add arguments (optional): C:\Users\user\Desktop\test.ahk All of that looks good. As I mentioned earlier, it works perfectly here via the Task Schedu...

Yep, that's probably it. No doubt that installer script existed well before v1.1.27.

not automatically at logon Which one is it: (1) The script runs at log on, i.e., it appears in the system tray, but the hotkey does not work. (2) The script doesn't even run at log on. In the General tab, is "Run with highest privileges" ticked? If not, try that. What are the details of the Action,...

Trying to understand: If !A_IsAdmin && !%False%

Hi Folks, I'm studying the AutoHotkey installer (the Installer.ahk script that is in the AHK download). It has this line in it: if !A_IsAdmin && !%False% The built-in variable False contains 0. So, !%False% evaluates to 1, which means that the logical-AND (with 1 ) will always result in simply the v...

Re: Cannot change tray icon when starting script using Task Scheduler

I created a task in Task Scheduler with this Action: "C:\Program Files\AutoHotkey\AutoHotkeyU64.exe" c:\temp\TestTaskScheduler.ahk I did not set a Trigger for it...just ran it manually. I do not want to log out and back in to test that aspect of it,..and I'm doubtful that that's the issue. Are you s...
