pushd() Function - Map drive if UNC detected

Simple function to map a drive letter on the fly if the script is running from a unc path. Then close the map afterwards.. Tested on XP 32bit and win7 64bit #NoEnv ; Recommended for performance and compatibility with future AutoHotkey releases. SendMode Input ; Recommended for new scripts due to its...

Re: Super simple download with progressbar

Very Nice!

Was wondering if you guys have any thoughts how one might compare the online version of a download, like ccleaner or whatever, to the version you have and ONLY download if newer..

Re: msconfig

It will work if you just replace "System32" with "SysNative"... I had tried that, but your reply prompted me to give it yet another whirl. It does work!!! I just needed to also run as administrator elevated!! Thanks Alot. I am enlightened!! I don't have a xp machine at hand, but for the sake of com...

Re: msconfig

If you're using AutoHotkey 32-bit on Windows 64-bit, either switch to AutoHotkey 64-bit or replace "System32" with "SysNative". Google "file system redirector" for more info. Wow, that's an eye opener! I find that most everything exist in syswow64 except msconfig.exe :) Guess that explains the "Fil...

msconfig

I can't seem to run these commands to run msconfig ;run, %A_Windir%\system32\msconfig.exe ;run, %comspec% /k %A_Windir%\system32\msconfig.exe I can put msconfig in a .cmd file and it runs just fine. But if I try to call that batch file from autohotkey, I get file not found.. run, %comspec% /k %a_des...

Re: [Function] GuiButtonIcon

Is there a way this function can return a default icon if no icon is found for a file?

I do not understand good enough how the function achieves it's goal to add this feature. :(

Re: Run comspec from list of executables in a text file

Ok, here's the answer in a sample script. I know, you knew I'd figure it out.. :) ; Proof of concept ultimately to be used to grab variables from a text file and run them ; as executables. ; If you wish to use comsped in the command - Prefix with [cmd] ; Perimeters should be prefixed with [p] ; work...

Re: Run comspec from list of executables in a text file

While it all looks right, it still does not work. :( This line run directly works run, %comspec% /c "%A_Scriptdir%\ketarin\ketarin.exe" /database=tmjobs.db /silent /notify, %A_Scriptdir%\ketarin\ , Hide This line in the script works with the default ketarin database. run, %comspec% /c %current_softw...

Re: Run comspec from list of executables in a text file

Well, I seem to have made some progress. I put [perimeters] in front of the perimeters like this in the text file. Then went to work on the string.. Looks cludgy.. [cmd] ketarin\ketarin.exe [perimeters]/database=tmjobs.db /silent /notify StringGetPos, cmdfound, current_software_button_exe, [cmd] if ...

Run comspec from list of executables in a text file

I have a test file with a list of programs to run. Some of them need comspec. Of course, this introduces the illegal variable issue.. So while I can put something in front of those lines to tell the script to run comspec like this [cmd] c:\software\ketarin\ketarin.exe /database=otherjobs.db /silent ...

Good Place to leave a log file?

I've an old script that logs what the script does. Back in the day, I had it put the log in c:\windows directory :) XP did not mind that, but windows 7 does and so the log file has not been writing on win7 machines. I did attempt to write to the %A_ProgramFiles%\programlogs\logs.txt, but the directo...

Re: Exact string match

so...? thisname := "carbon" desiredName := "carbon" if (thisname = desiredName){ Msgbox Names match. } You guys have been spot on from the beginning. Though this is the first solution I had tried (I thought). It's actually a piece of a larger code, I just reverted to the example because it did not ...

Re: Exact string match

like this? desiredName := "carbon" if ("Radium" = desiredName){ Msgbox You desire Radium! } Nope, that doesn't work. :( It actually does, but you have replace the variable: thisname with the word radium I want to see if the %DesiredName% is the same string as %thisname% (which is pulled from the re...

Re: Exact string match

You have my sincere appologies. I did not mean to waste your time! The comparison does NOT have to be case sensitive. I simply cannot get an if statement to work. ie if (thisName = desiredName) Try just changing the name to a program you have installed and let me know if it works with the if (thisNa...

Exact string match

I got this from the autohotkey forum. It works fine. However, I've been trying to modify it to do only an EXACT match ONLY and failed.. No matter what I do, I cannot seem to change the "if InStr" line to do an exact match. What might I be missing? DesiredName := "OpenVPN 2.3.2-I003" ; Put here part ...
