Re: Relativity - Add relative positioning to controls in GUIs created by AutoGUI's GUI designer

Ah, if the import takes care of any necessary conversion then it's OK. Frankly I haven't played much with AutoGUI, for some reason, so I don't really know its strengths and weaknesses. Anyway, it's good we got to talk some ideas out, maybe at some point something useful will come out of this. Thank ...

Re: Relativity - Add relative positioning to controls in GUIs created by AutoGUI's GUI designer

Understandable. At least you now know more about other editors. :)
The only drawback in Relativity is that once converted, a GUI cannot be edited again in AutoGUI. A bidirectional conversion might even allow a seamless integration of Relativity in AutoGUI as one of the official tools. ;)

Re: Relativity - Add relative positioning to controls in GUIs created by AutoGUI's GUI designer

To be fair, SmartGui is quite outdated considering latest changes in AHK 1.1 (it was developed by Rajat and then myself mostly in the AHK 1.0 era). I tried my best to make it compatible with Win9x - since it used to be my main OS - and at some point attempted to update it to work with AHK 1.1 Unicod...

Re: Relativity - Add relative positioning to controls in GUIs created by AutoGUI's GUI designer

Indeed the issue with variable-bound coordinates can be tricky, but is solvable with a bit of effort (like asking the user to manually input values for each variable, for example). The v , g , hwnd and other parameters can be parsed, if existing. SmartGUI does that. ;) Of course, everything can be p...

Re: Relativity - Add relative positioning to controls in GUIs created by AutoGUI's GUI designer

Thanks for considering my suggestions. Long ago I managed to get SmartGui Creator to extract most of the GUI-related code and process it, including such "non-standard" coordinates. It wasn't perfect by any means but sometimes it could do a good job. Code, however, was a mess. And, ironically, ...

Re: Relativity - Add relative positioning to controls in GUIs created by AutoGUI's GUI designer

Good idea, could've used such tool back on Windows. :) Tried to test it in Linux Mint under Wine 5.1 and first thing popped up an error messagebox related to the Switch command. I realised it was due to an older AHK version (1.1.30.03) so I updated to 1.1.32.00. It may be a good idea for you to ment...

Re: Upcoming Ahk2Exe Changes (2019)

It's logical for all running variants to be identical in capabilities. One may have a multitude of scripts to compile - some using Directives, others not. And then even when using Directives there may be something wrong that would be much easier to fix in the GUI than searching, editing, saving, esp...

Re: Upcoming Ahk2Exe Changes (2019)

what would be shown in the GUI may bear no relation to what actually happens during the compilation process. That's why the GUI should be revisited and all possible options added there. A button switching between Novice and Expert modes, a quick analysis of the selected script looking for Directive...

Re: [x64 & x32 fix] DeskIcons - Get/Set Desktop Icon Positions

Based on the values it could mean all your monitors have a horizontal resolution of 2560px. That would explain the 00/0A/14*0x100.
BTW, the vertical coordinates can also be negative if monitors are stacked vertically. But negative values seem to not be used here.

Re: [x64 & x32 fix] DeskIcons - Get/Set Desktop Icon Positions

Coordinates can be negative, depending on which monitor is set as primary and how they are arranged (horizontally and/or vertically).
So you have to take into consideration signed integers.

Re: Upcoming Ahk2Exe Changes (2019)

URL shorteners? Never! I wanna see clearly where I'm being sent before getting there.
Not to mention advertising and delays introduced by a possible interim page redirector.
Not to mention the security risk if the shortened link somehow gets hacked and users click it in good faith.

Re: Upcoming Ahk2Exe Changes (2019)

Simple test: open some executable in Resource Hacker, try to add anything - say a text file - as RC_DATA and see how the resource name appears. Delete the name and try typing lowercase. Draw a conclusion. ;)

Re: Upcoming Ahk2Exe Changes (2019)

ironically, the opposite just happened with Malwarebytes Maybe their "A.I." goes beyond simply checking for names from a black list - maybe they also check for a match between filename, VersionInfo fields, Manifest name and who-knows-what else inside the executable based on some fixed patterns plus...

Re: Upcoming Ahk2Exe Changes (2019)

I don't know how AutoHotkey_H works [...] Actually AHK H was the pioneer for this Directives improvement, but TAC109 took this a little bit further and there's now a mismatch between the two. Therefore some L directives would still work in H but others won't. That's the problem. Interesting idea. H...

Re: Upcoming Ahk2Exe Changes (2019)

Doesn't the H compiler do the whole resource obfuscation job in coordination with the H binary (or regardless of it)? I haven't checked the H compiler code (if the obfuscation part is even available) but it may not even change the resource name - it could just do something similar to what the origin...

Re: Upcoming Ahk2Exe Changes (2019)

just use AutoHotkey_H the source code is encrypted and there is no AUTOHOTKEY SCRIPT in the RCDATA But does the AHK H compiler sport all the changes and improvements present in this TAC109 version of the compiler? Because if not, the new/changed directives found in users' scripts will not work in t...

Additionally, I think this needs a 'Default' button.
There has been one in my experimental GUI from the very beginning. See here.

Re: Upcoming Ahk2Exe Changes (2019)

@Drugwash UPX parameters are -q --all-methods as mentioned above. No level is used. I have found that the parameters I have used give the best compression for only a little extra elapsed time. Ah, OK, thank you. True enough, although my primary purpose is code obfuscation [...] Obviously compressio...

Re: Upcoming Ahk2Exe Changes (2019)

Compression is not necessarily used for code/resources obfuscation - it saves bandwidth and/or storage space, especially when there are many files to transfer/store and bandwidth is limited or free space is scarce. What compression level is being used by the compiler for UPX? There are five levels a...

Well, I took a few minutes to test the script and unfortunately it doesn't work under Wine - tooltips are completely inhibited while the script is running. Tray tips still work but they are not modified in any way. Sorry I can't be of more help. Only one thing: I noticed an extra parameter Int at th...
