Re: Upcoming Ahk2Exe Changes (2019)

Compression is not necessarily used for code/resources obfuscation - it saves bandwidth and/or storage space, especially when there are many files to transfer/store and bandwidth is limited or free space is scarce. What compression level is being used by the compiler for UPX? There are five levels a...

Re: ToolTipAll

Well, I took a few minutes to test the script and unfortunately it doesn't work under Wine - tooltips are completely inhibited while the script is running. Tray tips still work but they are not modified in any way. Sorry I can't be of more help. Only one thing: I noticed an extra parameter Int at th...

Re: ToolTipAll

Unfortunately I haven't been able to code for quite some time, partly due to Linux being pig-headed, partly due to problems with my cats and kittens. Little spare time left. Hopefully someone would offer you their help for this script. As mentioned in some other topic, AHK works partly under Linux/W...

Re: Upcoming Ahk2Exe Changes (2019)

How are you running ahk under linux mint? is it with wine? You could try loading the docs html files from the source zip with javascript disabled? Yes, I'm using Wine 4.16. Can't install the native IE, maybe due to my limited Linux knowledge, maybe for other reasons, and the default XUL replacement...

Re: Upcoming Ahk2Exe Changes (2019)

Speaking about the Help file, please please revert to the old style, or at least provide that as an alternative. Under Linux (Mint 19.x here) the current file won't display anything, it stays on loading forever. :( I've been using the online help a few times but that one is slow and unconfortable.

Re: ToolTipAll

I can't even remember typing it (or what your script is about). It's been almost two years apparently, a lot has happened in the mean time, such as me switching to Linux with all the hurdles involved. So... yeah, don't cling too much on my opinions. ;)

Re: My experience porting AHK scripts to Linux.

I've been running some of my AHK scripts under Linux Mint+Wine too for the last few months and stumbled into issues. Don't care much about hotkeys or hotstrings - I'm mostly a GUI person. There are bugs in Wine, some very old, that may never get fixed, such as text in themed buttons/checkboxes/radio...

Re: Upcoming Ahk2Exe Changes (2019)

Unfortunately the smallest girl died this evening. One of her sisters died about a week ago. They were only two months old. Dunno what's going on, could be a virus. Another older girl had an ear infection and remained with a lack of balance, possibly something worse - she can't even walk straight, l...

Re: Upcoming Ahk2Exe Changes (2019)

Interesting, I like the idea of specifying. I think this would be better suited as a directive and/or command-line option of some kind. We don't want to add too much to the GUI. It has to remain relatively simple for newer users, even I was confused, at first, as to what compiling meant for ahk and...

Re: Upcoming Ahk2Exe Changes (2019)

It may be easier if there was a manual option to select the path to a custom Autohotkey.exe to use with the current (and future) script(s). For all we know, the user may install/deploy multiple (un)official AHK packages anywhere on their system, and they may need any of them at any time. Any fixed s...

Re: Upcoming Ahk2Exe Changes (2019)

Currently this script does not have an option to select a particular Autohotkey.exe for its internal operations; it assumes AHK is installed in the default path and that Ahk2Exe resides in the Compiler subfolder in that path. Your setup is different, that is why you get that warning and those issues...

Re: Win10 bug? CopyImage() w/ LR_CREATEDIBSECTION

Sorry for late reply, I haven't been notified of your message. :( Not sure how minimal an example could be since this API is being used in conjunction with others. I'll atach one of my old scripts where I first noticed the issue. Funny thing is I can't find the most recent sources (could be on the X...

Re: Upcoming Ahk2Exe Changes (2019)

Yes, one just has to specify one or more command line parameters: /in,/out,/icon,/pass,/bin,/mpress or /compress,/cp. Actually /pass is invalid for this compiler version. And /in is mandatory since it's the path to the ahk script being compiled. If /icon , /bin or /mpress | /compress are missing, th...

Re: Upcoming Ahk2Exe Changes (2019)

Sure, the Directives are very useful and you did a great job implementing them. My reasoning for completing the GUI is that new users may find the Directives sometime later, and some older scripts may take some time before being modified to incorporare the Directives, so in the mean time the GUI sho...

Re: Upcoming Ahk2Exe Changes (2019)

So no codepage in GUI, no timer for immediate feedback on deploying packer exe? Incomplete job IMHO.
But I see nobody else is interested in this script apart from Joe so why bother.
Thanks for your work.

Re: Upcoming Ahk2Exe Changes (2019)

Thank you for your appreciation, was afraid it was all too ugly for anyone to issue a decent opinion. :D It's not all visuals though, under the hood there's a continuous check for compressors if selected, and a hint for where to place them if not present. I'm not quite sure which codepages to enumer...

Re: Win10 bug? CopyImage() w/ LR_CREATEDIBSECTION

Really, nobody cared to test this in 3 1/2 months...? :(
Further, I noticed most recent versions of Wine have implemented the very same flag bahavior, breaking applications regardless of the OS version compatibility selected in winecfg. Am I going crazy or everything's slowly going down the drain?
