Re: accessing info from Windows Spy - TitleMatchmode hidden

Thanks. I find the documents a little confusing, but am muddling through (I'm not a programmer). I've created enough scripts to get by and made them interactive enough to be used by others, but not close to perfect! this one is one I had laying around because I couldn't get it to work and my boss su...

Re: accessing info from Windows Spy - TitleMatchmode hidden

MJs, Thanks for looking through this for me. I'm not very good at this and don't know how to implement your code. If I take the script I have (which is from someone else) and add your piece on the end, it never executes. Either of the pieces work that way. I am sure it is something obvious. For inst...

Re: accessing info from Windows Spy - TitleMatchmode hidden

post what GetHiddenText() function returns, if there is two different returns would be better and what you want exactly and we'd see how you'd parse it Here is the code the script returns: >>>>>>>>>>( Window Title & Class )<<<<<<<<<<< EndNote X7 - [aecclib.enl] ahk_class EndNote X7 Frame >>>>>>>>>>...

Re: accessing info from Windows Spy - TitleMatchmode hidden

kon wrote:Set DetectHiddenText to ON and then try WinGetText.

Thanks but I have DetectHiddenText set to on and I use WinGetText, the problem is parsing the result. I need to get the 3rd and 2nd to last lines and use them as variables.

I see the following in the Windows Spy window. Re: [Library] GuiVar - Use Gui as Variable Between AHK Scrip

I figured something out with my scripts, although I am NOT sure what it means. The backup script seems to work fine, but if I try to use it on a large database there is an audible ding right after the save dialog appears and the name of the db is not correct. instead of being <drive>:\<datetimestamp...

Thanks I will look at these, but they are a little over my head, although it does sound promising.

Re: [Library] GuiVar - Use Gui as Variable Between AHK Scrip

If I should start a new topic with this let me know. Now I have the various scripts seemingly working. I have the small problem of scripts having to be executed in a certain order in order to get the initial variables to pass from one to the other. Sometimes I only need to do a backup, sometimes I w...

Re: [Library] GuiVar - Use Gui as Variable Between AHK Scrip

FG: I had already thought about the solution you just provided and did indeed find one script with one of the vars in it. I am changing all the scripts to get the GuiVar version and then use a local differently named version. GD: I've been on the IRC and did receive some help from 2 members there (n...

Re: [Library] GuiVar - Use Gui as Variable Between AHK Scrip

As I am sure you are aware there were not 20 posts after the last post by FG. When posting from a phone it is hard enough to read the last post and reply without scrolling around for the edit button. I have used the edit button and although I may be rather new to AHK, I have been a member of various...

Re: [Library] GuiVar - Use Gui as Variable Between AHK Scrip

with just the 3 scripts running everything is okay (script_one, script_two, backup). I am now changing the running scripts to be setvar (to take place of script_one to set variables) and backup (will retrieve the vars it needs and backup the database).

Re: [Library] GuiVar - Use Gui as Variable Between AHK Scrip

Maybe I am wrong - All the scripts are running but the output is fine now. Could the order be a problem? I will try again with AHK Startup.

Re: [Library] GuiVar - Use Gui as Variable Between AHK Scrip

Now I think it has something to do with the other scripts that are running. I didn't use AHK Startup, but instead just started all the scripts. The result is that I am getting the same erroneous output. So with only script_one and script_two running everything is okay, if I run all my scripts back t...

Re: [Library] GuiVar - Use Gui as Variable Between AHK Scrip

it has something to do with the AHK Startup script. That is the only difference between the two systems. When I exit that script and just start script_one and Script_two by themselves, there is no problem - everything works.

Re: [Library] GuiVar - Use Gui as Variable Between AHK Scrip

Now I'm not sure what the problem is. I installed the new version over the old version on another computer and the script works perfectly (after I tweaked it to take into account some one like me picking a drive instead of a folder), but on this machine it doesn't work - still get same weird output....

Re: [Library] GuiVar - Use Gui as Variable Between AHK Scrip

I downloaded the latest stable version (32 bit). After putting the GuiVar.ahk file in the newly created lib directory in the new install all errors are gone - thanks! Now I am left with one problem - the variables still are having trouble. Here is a screen shot of the out put of Script_two (a...

Re: [Library] GuiVar - Use Gui as Variable Between AHK Scrip

I put the guivar script in the ahk directory \lib so its path is C:\Program Files (x86)\AutoHotkey\Lib\GuiVar.ahk. I tried running Script_one.ahk above and got this error:
scriptone error with guivar.PNG

Re: [Library] GuiVar - Use Gui as Variable Between AHK Scrip

Thanks. I tried just putting the script in the same folder that ahk is in. I will create a lob folder and put it there tomorrow.
