Re: Translate PowerShell to AHK - possible?

(The example is one of the larger files ;) ) Does the solution works with both xls (Excel) and ods (OpenOffice / LibreOffice Calc) ? (most of the files is ods) Is it an external program that scans the spreadsheets? or Is the solution solved with AHK? Does it cost anything? ( I can do test on my rea...

Re: Translate PowerShell to AHK - possible?

1) I don't know how to read xls / ods files quickly. I was thinking / searching and it seems possible to read cell for cell. But I think it takes quite some time to read about 35000 x 72 cells ... (do you know how it works?) What is your threshold? how quickly do you need 35.000 x 72 cells? convert...

Re: Translate PowerShell to AHK - possible?

how is this thought implemented, in my case? You can go back to the original data and try to find a way to produce consistent output from it, rejecting the "rumors" which do not pass the "entry-exam" to Albireo 's approved format. For example: suppose you have data in *.xls format. You would write ...

Re: Loop, read same file more than once

But it would be nice if Loop Read could be resumed if required
Loop, Read can be resumed, and it will be resumed, by default. see previous code.
There is a added feature (the break command) to prevent this from happening if not needed. In your case, you could omit the break command.

Re: Loop, read same file more than once

I just re-read the topic's title. Seems you want to read the file more than once.
That makes my suggestion off-topic. sorry

Re: Loop, read same file more than once

It's not a limitation of Loop, Read , it's your use of break . don't break and all is good. Try this also for a non-breaking alternative: given_File := "given_File.txt" ; create content to put into file File_Content := "" Loop, 5 File_Content .= "Text Line #" . A_Index . "`n" ; write content to file...

Re: Translate PowerShell to AHK - possible?

I seem to have failed to communicate my most recent idea, I start again: Let's start with introducing the term " rumour " and attach it to whatever you get from your CSV-files. Let's, for the moment, reserve the term " data " for the useful real data. So you have calc/Excel programs or whatever that...

this line is unreachable:

Code: Select all

SetTimer, illustratorChecker, 3000
Move it into the auto-execute section of the script.

Re: Translate PowerShell to AHK - possible?

Here is a thought: Do you have access to the original data? If so, and you can not force your program to use a consistent data-format, use some way of auto-identifying when saving. Such as: Comma_003-015-999.csv for csv-files that use comma. And Semicolon_12.65.12457.csv for csv-files that use semic...

Re: Translate PowerShell to AHK - possible?

example for escaping the escape character: here I choose \ as escape character. To use it for User[3] see example:
user, number, address
James Bond, 007, London
John\c the baptist, 001, Jerusalem
Jack\c the ripper (\\Cartman), 666, Southpark

Re: Translate PowerShell to AHK - possible?

0,001; 0,002; 0,003
0,004; 0,005; 0,006
0,007; 0,008; 0,009
How do you decide? comma or semicolon? How do you decide automatically, when there is 3 sets of data one way, and 4 sets the other way?
There is no automatic fool-proof way, as just me pointed out.

Re: Translate PowerShell to AHK - possible?

Which separator will your 'automatic analyzer' choose?
Touchée. I would have to make up more rules for this idea to work. :(
@Albireo: please ignore my previous post. There is more "manual" examination of data required.

Re: Translate PowerShell to AHK - possible?

You could, if you wanted, introduce a "base-line" requirement: E.g. All my data respects some simple but strict rules: 1) every table is saved in Albireo 's approved format: 2) every row in the table is contained in its own line of text, Rows are delimited by `n or `r`n . 3) every field in the row i...

Re: Translate PowerShell to AHK - possible?

I think it's easy and possible to translate the PowerShell script to AHK. But, I don't think it will save you from "manual" reviewing the results. With every iteration of you moving the goal-posts, you need to reinvest brain-cycles. If I understand correctly, the script just spits out a table, where...

Re: Error messages always on top

Try this script, it is meant to run as a stand alone. It aims at making all message-boxes AlwaysOnTop. included are all message-boxes. from AHK, from Notepad, from Excel ... ;------------------------------------------------------------------------------- WatchBox(wParam, lParam := "") { ; make messa...

Re: append one array to another

Try this to see a working case of Push():

Code: Select all

array1 := ["red", "blue"]
array2 := ["yellow", "green"]

array1.push(array2*)
I hope that helps.

Push() will not work as intended for associative arrays.

this is not correct syntax, the remainder of the script is ignored!
use */ on a line of its own, same as first time where you used it.

this is how you can change to tooltipping:

Code: Select all

Up:: StartTime := A_TickCount
Up up:: ToolTip, % A_TickCount - StartTime " millis"

Re: how to measure time between button down and button up?

Try this to measure how long the Up arrow button was held down:

Code: Select all

Up:: StartTime := A_TickCount
Up up:: MsgBox, % A_TickCount - StartTime " millis"
I hope that helps.
