Re: Signature disable for new users

Signatures seem to used often by spammers - they make a few "posts" (useless comments often) and then add a signature with spam link. So why not disable signatures for users < 30 posts or something like that. btw the old archived forum is also riddled with signature spam posts (drugs, second hand c...

Re: AHK Studio

I can't write unicode character in AHK Studio. One simple way, is to paste the script in Windows Notepad, and save the file as UTF-8. 1) When you click " Save As " in Notepad, at the bottom, you will see " Encoding " 2) Select " UTF-8 " 3) With " Save as type ", select " All Files " 4) Type in the ...

Re: Report False-Positives To Anti-Virus Companies

Thank god that McAfee is not included above list, this is the best Antivirus ever because of its better performance & response. Good thing is there is no available option of false detection form. What are you talking about? McAfee has a false-positive procedure, where you inform them by e-mail, and...

looking for the same things, and inspired by @geekyadam 's attempts, sharing what I came up with, so far: https://github.com/fredless/WebexMeetingMute Nice. You and geekyadam might want to consider using SendInput instead of Send , as it's less likely to be interfered with. In addition, maybe look ...

Re: fail to pick on laptop

Usually people add the below near the top of the script, to run as admin, if the user has such permissions. Some scripts need such permissions to run properly.

Code: Select all

If not A_IsAdmin
{
   Run *RunAs "%A_ScriptFullPath%"
   ExitApp
}

Re: Script was working Friday, not working Monday

Maybe add this at the top of your script, after all the # stuff. Pseudo Code #NoEnv #Include #Persistent If not A_IsAdmin { Run *RunAs "%A_ScriptFullPath%" ExitApp } Might help, depending on what your permissions are on the computer. No change, still receive the unknown function error like it's not...

Re: New forum sections proposal.

Sorry, but I don't understand "General Discussion". We have "Off Topic", so don't they serve the same purpose, in terms of non code related discussions? If a person wants to discuss something other than about programming, wouldn't they go to "Off Topic" to do that? If they want to discuss something ...

Re: Script was working Friday, not working Monday

No need to look at the code, I'm not asking for a script review, especially on such a thrown-together script (from a few different contributors with varying levels of competence, and no indentation like you mentioned, SOTE. Makes me feel dirty every time I look at it). I'm asking what corporate env...

Re: Best Resources to start Learning AHK_H from nil

I think part of the problem is that AutoHotkey_H has jumped the gun, in terms of online documentation for AHK_H v1 VS AHK_H v2. Most people will be coming to AutoHotkey_H from v1 and not v2, to include that v2 is not the official release yet (nor likely to be for a while). Add to the documentation p...

NO, this has been asked & answered a thousand times. If your looking to hide data in your source,that's possible but,hiding the source itself in AHK_L is not possible.Period. I'm not trying to be rude, I'm just trying to express the nature of AHK in it's current form. Any attempt can easily be bypa...

Re: Script was working Friday, not working Monday

If you are making lots of changes to scripts and then running the different versions of it, you should probably put #SingleInstance force ( https://autohotkey.com/docs/commands/_SingleInstance.htm ) at the top of the script. What can happen is that you are actually running an older version of your s...

Re: Why PCRE instead of PCRE2?

The PCRE1 vs PCRE2 mini drama also reflects issues involving AHK v1 VS AHK v2. There is a negative cost associated with major updates and revisions of a language (or project), which must be weighed against benefits. If the benefit is calculated as small, then this will understandably cause hesitatio...

Interestingly, it appears older AutoIt executables could be decompiled with a similar method. Likely AutoIt v3.2.5.1 and earlier scripts. Renaming AutoIt executables to .txt, you can see the script in notepad. From AutoIt version 3.3 and up, they switched to a different method of compiling, where vi...

Re: Report False-Positives To Anti-Virus Companies

I also haven't used mpress (or upx) since like 2010, and still get false positives all the time on compiled scripts, so it may help but it is not a total solution. Some older versions (and simpler scripts) are 1 or 2 FPs on VisusTotal, some newer compiled ahk versions (and more complex, "invasive" ...

Re: Which is the best way to enumerate array elements? Topic is solved

AutoHotkey is an interpreted language, so if anybody is that much of a "speed junkie", then they are probably better off jumping to their nearest favorite compiled programming language and be happy over there. No need to be perpetually crying about speed in a help forum. Better to focus on showing e...
