Re: Windows 10 / after renaming the folder, the old name persists, how to fix this with AutoHotkey?

I believe this is not restricted to OneDrive, the behavior seems to exist on all folders, including local and network drives (I'm not 100% sure, but I think so). It concerns all file operations, including copy+paste and dragging/moving. So I could copy a file to a local folder, and the copy finishes...

Re: Windows 10 / after renaming the folder, the old name persists, how to fix this with AutoHotkey?

It takes time because there can be days when the problem doesn't occur, especially if I use the computer only for a few minutes. But I do have several PCs and I can confirm, that on one computer I do not have any context menu additions, thumbnail viewers or anything of that nature installed (and Aut...

Re: Windows 10 / after renaming the folder, the old name persists, how to fix this with AutoHotkey?

I would like to ask one thing, have you ever encountered a situation where you create a New folder, rename that and then press enter in order to go into that new folder you just created. But then it complains the folder doesn't exist, because it's trying to go to New folder while the name is not tha...

Re: Windows 10 / after renaming the folder, the old name persists, how to fix this with AutoHotkey?

Hey, thank you for your feedback, I just realized there is one thing that could be interfering. I had FastPictureViewer Codec Pack installed, which should only affect image files (not new folders etc.), but it may be the culprit since it is something related to Explorer. I have to test for several d...

Re: Windows 10 / after renaming the folder, the old name persists, how to fix this with AutoHotkey?

Something like that is theoretically possible. But I am not able to find the problem. I can confirm that it is not a high CPU usage problem by looking at Task manager. Also it is not because keyboard management would be doing something funny. It happens with mouse operation only. I am not sure, but ...

Re: Windows 10 / after renaming the folder, the old name persists, how to fix this with AutoHotkey?

It's interesting that very few people have experienced this problem. But I can assure that it is a problem in Microsoft Windows Explorer, and has been for many years. I do believe that this is a rare problem. But as I wrote, the problem doesn't exist in XYplorer, for example. And it's not another sc...

Windows 10 / after renaming the folder, the old name persists, how to fix this with AutoHotkey?

One of the most annoying things in Windows 10 has been the following (it wasn't in Windows 7 and I haven't tested Windows 11): For example when creating a new folder, it's then called "New folder". If you rename the folder and press enter, the folder is still called "New folder". After a random dela...

Re: TrayTip not working (Win10 version 2004)

lexikos : the ActiveScript Toast method seems to be broken now (AutoHotkey 1.1), something happened with IE11/Edge? Doesn't do anything or gives "Error: 0x80020101 -". Also TrayTip still doesn't work for me on one computer (yes there are alternatives for TrayTip, but it would be good to get it work...

Best way to run hotkeys/functions of a remote computer's AutoHotkey script?

I use remote connections to control several computers. I use the same AutoHotkey.ahk on all computers and therefore I can use the same basic hotkeys on all my computers, also remotely. But I need additional hotkeys, just for triggering remote-specific stuff remotely, so I'm running out of key combin...

Logitech keyboard "poewr" typo problem fixed

This has got to be one of the most beautiful scripts for users of Logitech K800 keyboard (also other keyboards with the same problem). When typing very quickly " power " (holding p, o, w, e down simultaneously), the result is incorrect, for example poewr , even if buttons were pressed down in absolu...

Re: Swapping Alt & Win, retaining all hotkeys

I found a solution that doesn't involve logoff/logon (or reboot). However, that solution is unreliable at certain situations in the long term. For just a couple of keypresses here and there, you possibly won't notice anything bad (even though On-Screen Keyboard will show some weird behavior). The so...

Re: TrayTip not working (Win10 version 2004)

I just found another security feature which may have possibly been interfering with my TrayTip notifications. Programs today are too "automatic" so it's very difficult to keep up on what is doing what. I just found that Acronis True Image backup software also has kind of blacklist/whitelist for prog...

Re: MacBook Touch Bar causes accidental F-key presses – a workaround for that (Windows)

Looks like I found a workaround for that specific problem of Start Menu appearing unnecessarily. This is a very ugly fix, but seems to work for now. You have to add this after the If ( winKeyState == "D" ) row: { myModifier := myModifier . "#" Hotkey, LWin up, WorkaroundStartMenuCancel, On } And als...

MacBook Touch Bar causes accidental F-key presses – a workaround for that (Windows)

If you're like me and you install Windows onto MacBook (Pro) with the Touch Bar, you probably notice that F-keys are all the time triggered accidentally (or the media keys if you have them on by default). So how to cancel out accidental touch bar keypresses? This is one solution (workaround) for tha...

Re: Swapping Alt & Win, retaining all hotkeys

Possibly the best solution is to remap using the registry remapping as described here: https://www.autohotkey.com/docs/misc/Remap.htm (I used SharpKeys for the remap). Pretty annoying that I have to logoff+logon when changing from MacBook's own keyboard to an external PC keyboard. Would be fantastic...

Swapping Alt & Win, retaining all hotkeys

I got a MacBook, installed Windows on it, now I want to swap Alt & Win(key). This is easy: LAlt::LWin LWin::LAlt But now many of my hotkeys are broken. For example, #e is supposed to open File Explorer, however with that swapping in place, all previous hotkeys related to those keys are broken. Press...

Re: TrayTip not working (Win10 version 2004)

Perfect, that clear(app) works perfectly. About the original problem, balloons not showing at all. Unfortunately that problem returned for me. Basically at random times, anywhere between minutes to days, the balloons stop working for me. I checked and even that Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Mi...

Re: TrayTip not working (Win10 version 2004)

About the ActiveScript toast. I am now triggering toasts like this: %A_ScriptDir%\AutoHotkey.exe %A_ScriptDir%\API\Example_JsRT_Toast.ahk "title "text "smalltext" and I modified that Example_JsRT_Toast.ahk to wait for 6500 ms and then hiding the notification instead of asking whether to hide it. Is ...

Wowa-weewa, mamma mia, fantastic tips. That toast API works even simultaneously with the classic balloon enabled (and showing simultaneously). And the notification clearing works. Extremely useful! :bravo:

Re: TrayTip not working (Win10 version 2004)

So, it turns out that .ps1 (above), while it works (at least for me on Win10 v2004) and shows toasts or balloons, it is somehow problematic. If repeated a few times, all notifications seem to stop on my system. Possibly related to Bitdefender, possibly not. Why classic balloons instead of modern toa...
