Thanks, that was it. I still find the help file confusing on this.

FileCopyDir - I don't get it! Topic is solved

I'm trying to copy the contents of a single folder from one drive to a thumbdrive (q:\) I thought FileCopyDir would work since help states: Copies a folder along with all its sub-folders and files (similar to xcopy). But the following didn't work as expected: FileCopyDir, D:\test, Q:\, 1 I end up wi...

Re: Gui gcontrol as a funtion Topic is solved

Thank very much Hellbent for taking the time to create those examples. My Loop, 35 c%A_Index% = didn't work but your: Loop, 35 c%A_Index% := "" does. Since my last reply I'm been trying to create some code that was close to my original and gave an error but I couldn't. I'm still not quite sure what ...

If you are using #Warn, just declare your variables.
Thanks, the question is how.

Re: Gui gcontrol as a funtion Topic is solved

Thanks for the reply and the idea of using tooltip. I added that and got no error when clicking on the guicontrol but did with the keyboard shortcut (making 2 error messages). The c1 variable is generated in a loop and is a text control. The text control is blank when the gui is created and text is ...

Gui gcontrol as a funtion Topic is solved

I'm trying to learn how to use glabels as functions. I have a gcontrol set to a function and it is working without error when I click on the control in the gui. However, I would also like to access the function by using a keyboard shortcut but when I do so I get an error. Here is part of the code th...

Understanding Gui fonts use Topic is solved

Does anyone know what AHK considers to be a change of font, ie something that add to the font table and moves one step closer to the "out of fonts" error message? For example, consider this function: GetLineWidth(fnt, itm, name := "myownfont") { static l Gui, New Gui, -dpiscale Gui, Font, s%fnt% bol...

Re: Resizing Gui text.

As soon as I posted this I saw my error. I' didn't specify the font to be used in SetTextPos. Once I did that the Display text displayed correctly.

Resizing Gui text.

I am trying to resize a text control so that it can accommodate a change of font and a change of content. Things aren't going very well. Here is my function for finding the size of the new text area: SetTextPos(t,f,w) { Global NH, TH, TY static h, hh Gui, set:new, -dpiscale -caption Gui, set:margin,...

Gui, Color?

The help file states: WindowColor is used as the background for the GUI window itself. ControlColor is applied to all present and future controls in the window (though some types of controls do not support a custom color). Although ControlColor is initially obeyed by ListViews and TreeViews, subsequ...

Re: Store an array name and contents at a given position

Thanks for the replies. The function is part of a larger code and the contents of the variables is not an issue. The issue is how to store the array and then retrieve its content. Thanks for the code: SQC := "AA[" A_index "]" . AA[ A_index ] Unfortunately that produces the same value in both SQC and...

Store an array name and contents at a given position

I want to be able to search through multiple arrays and when the contents match the search item then store which array holds the search item and what position it is at. I thought the following would work: GetArray() { Global GuiControlget, BK, pos SQC := "" loop, 50 { if instr(AA[A_index], BKX) && i...

Passing variables from a gui between functions

Apologies, I feel I've asked this before but I can't find the answer. In the following code why isn't the msgbox displaying the result from the Gui eidt control? ^f4:: functiontest() functiontest() { n := secondfunction() winwaitclose, AFN msgbox, 4096, OK, %n% exitapp } Secondfunction() { static na...
