Re: AHK Gui - Redrawing the screen

Thanks for the information, Bobo. So far I've seen one Hellbent's tutorial on YouTube featuring move but have yet to find a better answer to the flickering issue. I'll keep looking, though. I never thought of YouTube as AHK resource until now, cheers.

Thanks for the idea. I tried it but in my case I still saw flashing.

AHK Gui - Redrawing the screen

I usually use movedraw to move gui controls as I'm usually moving one object over another. That works pretty well. Currently I have a project where one picture control is moving between two others (I' trying to create a boat sailing in the sea effect). I'm seeing a flash pretty often even when I'm n...

Re: Gui, hide part of a picture control? Topic is solved

Thanks for the replies and especially foe the code, just me. It's given me an idea for another project. Bobo, reading your replies I think I have irritated you, my apologies if I have. I actually tried both codes. By "as far as I can tell" I just meant what I wrote. I couldn't see any difference in ...

Re: Gui, hide part of a picture control? Topic is solved

Thanks for taking the trouble to make the code and for your help. Your example uses 16 "covers" but I want to use at least a few hundred. As far as I can tell we are both hiding the target picture in the same way except that I used text controls and you used picture controls. As I mentioned when I u...

Re: Gui, hide part of a picture control? Topic is solved

Thanks, Bobo, that's a nice idea but doesn't suit my current project. Basically, I have a quiz and the children earn points which are then used to reveal part of the final picture. I'm after a kind of patchwork effect.

Re: Gui, hide part of a picture control? Topic is solved

Thanks for the replies. Here's the code I have to make the Gui. THe idea was to hide some random text files dso the picture would show throug. On my machine the image flashes before the whole gui is shown so the image gets seen before it is hidden: SetWorkingDir %A_ScriptDir% SetBatchLines, -1 PV :=...

Gui, hide part of a picture control? Topic is solved

I'm trying to make a puzzle for children in which they see part of an image and then try to guess what it is. I thought I could use lots of picture or progress controls and put them at random in front of a picture to block part of it. The problem I'm having is that I always see a flash of the entire...

Re: Issue with unhiding a Gui edit control

Thanks for the reply and the suggestions. Unfortunately, the first two did nothing visible. Winhide and Winshow did work but creates an ugly flash. However, you led me to a solution. For my purposes the following works: F12:: Wipe := !wipe if wipe { GuiControl, Whit:show, wipe GuiControl, Whit:disab...

Ahk Gui slider colors?

What determines the color of a slider pointer and also the color it changes to when the mouse moves over the pointer. I have a slider on a black background and when I mouse over it the pointer turns from blue to black making it difficult to see. Is it possible to set a sliders colors? Thanks

Re: Issue with unhiding a Gui edit control

Here's a cut-down version of my code that demonstrates the same problem. I think any png will cause the same issue as long as it occupies the whole screen: SendMode Input ; Recommended for new scripts due to its superior speed and reliability. SetWorkingDir %A_ScriptDir% ; Ensures a consistent start...

Re: Issue with unhiding a Gui edit control

Thanks for your reply. Your example works for me but using controlclick doesn't work with my Gui. With my Gui I hide the edit control and unhide a picture control using F12 . Pressing F12 again toggles hiding the picture control and shows the edit but I don't see the cursor after using controlclick.

Issue with unhiding a Gui edit control

I have an issue with a gui. After hiding then unhiding an edit control I'm not seeing the cursor. It's possible to type into the control. I tire setting the focus but that didn't work. How to restore the missing cursor? Thanks.

Re: pair all members of a group uniquely? Topic is solved

Brilliant boiler, your code gives the result I am looking for. I'm struggling to understand it but it is early in the morning and my eyes are even more blurry than usual. I struggled to see the typos even after Chunjee's post. I'm glad you got the gist of want I meant. Thanks again for your help, mu...

pair all members of a group uniquely? Topic is solved

Suppose I have ia number of items. How can I pair the items the same number of times so that every item appears first once and second once and never in the same pair. For example if I have A, B, C, D, then A-D, B-C, D-A and C-B would fit the criteria but A-A, B-C, D=C, C=B would not. I tried the fol...

Thanks garry and just me. My apologies for not reading the documentation on GuiControl carefully enough. I got fixated on looking at Options when the answer is in choosing an n value of 0.

Re: How to remove the focus from a GUI ListBox Topic is solved

Thanks for the reply. Can you point me to an example of how to deselect a selected item in a listbox? I tried using -choose and -choosestring but can't clear the focus from the listbox. Thanks again.

How to remove the focus from a GUI ListBox Topic is solved

I have a Gui with multiple listboxes. When I click on an item in the first listbox it is highlighted in blue. When I click on an item in the second listbox it becomes highlighted as well. A couple of questions: 1. How to remove the focus/highlight colour from the first listbox when an item in the se...

Re: Send Function Keys via a GUI? Topic is solved

I found this in the archives which works: keybd_event("down") keybd_event(key, duration=20) { dllcall("keybd_event", uchar, GetKeyVK(key), uchar, GetKeySC(key), uint, 0, ptr, 0) sleep duration dllcall("keybd_event", uchar, GetKeyVK(key), uchar, GetKeySC(key), uint, 2, ptr, 0) }] Thanks, Linear Spoon
