Re: Help me to understand the proper use of if/else

jeeswg , MannyKSoSo , thank you both for your valuable contribution and explaination! It's nice to notice I wasn't way off with my approach. When I started typing this reply I was still dealing with the script exiting or simply not reaching the executions at the bottom of the script, but am proud t...

Help me to understand the proper use of if/else

Hi, Once again my default approach of trial-n'-error leads to utter failure and proves I should just still learn the basics. Somehow after reading the documentation I still don't seem to get it, why I require some help. When IF is true, it currently also seems to execute ELSE. At first I sus...

Re: Set position new GUI relative to other GUI window

Position can be set via the x and y controls at the end of your GUI Gui, Show, x467 y200 h399 w499, AutoHotkey Setup Return So my Gui will show itself at coordinate 467, 200 (this is from the top left corner of the window I believe) with height 399 pixels and width 499 pixels. Thanks mshall, that a...

Set position new GUI relative to other GUI window

Dear all, I wasn't able to find the required information in the wiki or on this forum. My apologies if I missed it. For my GUI tool, I made a button for launching a second GUI window with additional controls. Currently the new window is launched in the center of the primary monitor, but I'd like it ...

:) Try to compile the script (Right Click the Script > Compile Script) and run the script as administrator Thanks for the reply Qysh. I actually haven’t tested after compiling at all. In the morning I’ll also try running as administrator, if necessary. One thing to note though; the users and I norm...

AHK versus MSRA

Hi all, Once again I failed to achieve my goal by trial and error, therefore I require some help from people who actually know what they're doing ;) I did find similar previous posts about this on the board, but these date years ago and don't contain any solution. That why I'm starting this new post...

Value not picked up by RunWait %comspec% Topic is solved

Hi all, Let me start by explaining I'm a n00b, using the trial&error method and consulting help files only when needed for developing a working solution instead of studying the basics much. I'm struggling with a RunWait command utilizing the Windows command prompt, for which I found valuable informa...

Gui: Cursor at end of Edit control Topic is solved

Hi, I have a button that adds text to an Edit control. I'd like the cursor to be placed at the end of the control's content to allow the user to continue typing in it right away. Right now I'm navigating back to the control entering tab-keys, then entering a lot of down-keys and End. Like this: TXTo...

How did you manage to answer my question 1.5 years before posting it? :o Here the board shows date February 9th 2015 at your replies. By now I've just put in buttons instead to simply get it to work as intended. But I'll certainly try these two methods out in the near future. Thanks again wolf...

You can use Gosub, Label.

In order to get data from any control you have to use Gui, Submit (for the entire gui) or GuiControlGet (for individual controls).
Indeed, that was it. Thanks for your help and explanation, I learned something today. :geek:

Script not picking up value of edit control Topic is solved

Hi, me again.. I've been struggling with this all afternoon and can't figure out what I'm doing wrong. I'd appreciate it if you guys (and girls?) would point it out for me. I've got an Edit control with v-label vTkt. Some codes pickup this variable just fine, but one in particular can't seem to get ...

Gui: How to initiate two functions with one button Topic is solved

My apologies in advance. What I'm about to ask is probably described clearly in the docs, but I'm not able to recognize the information I need. Since it's a simple rookie question, I might as well ask you guys. I have a Gui with buttons. Two of them need to initiate two functions, the second they ha...

Re: Gui: conditionally add text and variables to clipboard Topic is solved

Thanks again wolf_II ! This helped me a lot. From your code new line entries are missing. Since the new lines are also conditional, I added these to the new variables. This is what I ended up with: ButtonKopieren: Gui, Submit, NoHide CopyLocatie := "" If Locatie CopyLocatie .= "--Locatie: " Locatie ...

Gui: conditionally add text and variables to clipboard Topic is solved

I've successfully created a function for adding contents of a GUI form to the clipboard, to paste it into our IT support registration system afterwards. This is part of the code: ButtonCopy: Gui, Submit, NoHide clipboard = ( --Name: %Name% --Location: %Location% (%LocType%) --Telephone: %Telephone% ...

I noticed when using the Alt keycombination for a link, that only highlights the link but not execute it. I need to follow up with an enter. Gui: Change font of a Link

I'm building a form with the feature of automatically entering predefined text into Edit controls by clicking a Link. With some help of this forum that works great. I'd like to allow user to use an Alt-key combination to run this also, so I added & to the link name. The problem now is, that users ca...
